5 . Operation

The unit can be operated following successful installation/assembly.
The HEATSCOPE® ZERO got an LED that is integrated into the cover plate between the heating profi-
le and the upper tray. Once the HEATSCOPE® ZERO is supplied with power, this LED lights, indicating
that the device is operating.
It may happen in conjunction with accessories that this LED does not light although the accessory is
supplied with voltage/current. Note here in any case the operating instructions supplied with each
accessory.
Although there is power to the HEATSCOPE® ZERO, it is possible that the LED likewise does not light
if the temperature protection was activated.
Do not forget to switch off your HEATSCOPE® ZERO again!
6. Installation instructions and minimum clearances
The following installation configuration ensures that the HEATSCOPE® ZERO heater is working
effectively. All the minimum clearances that must be met regardless of the installation environment
are listed.
1. The HEATSCOPE® ZERO must be fitted with an all­pole ON/OFF switch (not supplied).
2. Depending on the installation configuration, the HEATSCOPE® ZERO can reach a surface tempera-
ture of up to 700°F / 380°C under optimum conditions. Wind, humidity, ambient temperature as
well as the installation configuration itself can influence the surface temperature significantly.
3. Fit the unit so that it is well protected from wind and weather. The surface of the unit cools
down significantly as a result of wind, which affects the perceived body temperature decisively.
4. Fit the unit in well covered interior or exterior areas only.
5. The HEATSCOPE® ZERO must never be mounted vertically under any circumstances.
6. The radiant heater must have a minimum lateral clearance of 12 inch / 30 cm to each adjacent
wall, at least 31,5 inch / 80 cm to each surface on the front and at least 3 inch / 6 cm to the rear
mounting surface. Other relevant protection measures have to be met here in accordance with
local fire safety regulations.
7. The heater must not be located immediately below a socket outlet and must also have at least a
minimum lateral clearance of 3,94 inch / 10 cm to all socket outlets.
8. All cables must be routed so that they cannot come into contact with the heater at any time.
9. To operate your heater effectively and for the purpose of saving energy in general, make sure to
only us it at an ambient temperature of between 50°F / 10°C and 68°F / 20°C.
10. Please note the following diagram. The diagram show the ceiling and wall mounting of the
HEATSCOPE® ZERO including all minimum clearances to be observed. The prescribed minimum
mounting height of the HEATSCOPE® ZERO radiant heater is 82,7 inch / 210 cm.
