How to connect a gaming PC with external 5.1 encoding
Monitor
• When your PC is equipped with a 5.1 sound card with analogue outputs you can use any PC
game with your Headzone
station and your PC.
• Connect the 6 analogue outputs of your sound card to the 6 analogue inputs of your Dolby or
DTS
®
encoder (e.g. Creative DTS-610).
• Connect the HBC 1 base station to the "Digital Audio" output of the external Dolby or DTS
encoder Dolby Digital Live sound card by using the supplied optical or coaxial S/PDIF cable.
• The multi-channel audio signal of your game is now encoded by your encoder into a DTS
Dolby Digital stream and transmitted to the HBC 1 base station via the S/PDIF cable.
• It depends on the sound design of the game, whether the audio playback is in stereo, Pro
Logic or 5.1 Surround. You can see from the packaging of the game, if your game supports
multi-channel sound (surround), e.g. a Dolby Digital logo on the packaging.
• Connect the headphone of the MMX 300 headset to the headphone output of the HBC 1 base
station by using the supplied 1/4" adapter (6.35 mm).
• Connect the microphone of the MMX 300 to the microphone input of your PC. If necessary, use
the supplied extension cable with mini jack plug (3.5 mm).
