4.2.2 #0 IDA-System (RS232) data transfer from and to the Purple SX12
Adjust PROGRAM MODE on your GMVIS-Commander and connect the RS232 wire 94401.5 with the
Purple Sx12 and the GMVIS-Commander (brown wire to right side on charger and speedo).
If you want to receive the speedo datas, press the Timer-button on your GMVIS-Commander. RD? will
be displayed in the first line of your display. In case RD? 251 will occur, please press START/STOP
button to exit the program andpress the Timer-button again, until RD? 000 or another value as 251 does
occur.
If you don't want to read the datas, don't press the Timer- button.
Choose theprogram #0 at your speedo as above described (Push SET-button during switching on the
speedo until the red LED is on and the green turns on/off 3 times [red LED on]).
Wait for about 3s until the green LED does turn on/off 3 times. Now the red LED is on and during this
time the datas will be send to the GMVIS-commander. After sending the datas, the speedo is waiting for
datas. If you want to receive datas from the GMVIS-Commander, press the START/STOP-button on the
BMVIS-Commander, otherwise press the SET-button on your speedo to exit the program.
After disconnecting the RS232 wire the speedo works normal again.
Like this you can just read or just write datas or you can read and write datas from and to the
speedo.
Installing a Power Capacitor
Using a power capacitor will allow a speed
controller to run cooler and improve overall
performance, by smoothing any power spikes that
may be generated by a speed controller operating
at ultra high frequencies.
The power capacitor is polarized. The negative
(short) lead is marked with a white band and minus
on the body of the capacitor. Solder the capacitor
between the positive power wire and the negative
power wire ensuring correct polarisation. Use servo
tape to secure the capacitor to the side of the
speed controller or use heat shrink to secure it to
the power wires.
