1.4 Operation With Open Door
Hoxter fireplace inserts must be operated only with closed door, so there is no risk of combustion gas
leak or sparks leaving the burn chamber to the living room.
Hoxter fireplace inserts are designed to be operated only with the door closed. The door may be opened only when reloading wood or
when there is no active fire in the appliance.
When the fireplace insert is operated with the door open, the efficiency is only 25% when compared to the closed door operation. There
is also a risk of hot particles falling out from the door. When the fireplace insert is operated with the door open for a longer period of
time, the door sealing will be weared much faster.

1.5 Chimney Fire

When the chimney isn't maintained and cleaned regularly, soot may accumulate and create a layer on the on the sides of the fire
chamber. In an extreme case, sparks from fire could ignite this layer of soot. This is the reason why regular maintanance and cleaning
of the fireplace insert and the chimney is important. In case of starting a fire in the fireplace after a prolonged time without use it is
important that the appliance and chimney conditions are checked.
