THE HARNESS IS PUT ON CORRECTLY IF:
- All straps are correctly adjusted ( you can thread your hand between the harness and your clothes);
- Dorsal attaching ring is correctly positioned at the level of the shoulder blades;
- The free ends of all the straps are threaded through the loops;
- The positioning belt is correctly adjusted (neither too loose nor too tight);
- Its side attaching rings are correctly positioned symmetrically on user's sides, at the level of the hips;
- Its front attaching buckle is correctly positioned at the middle of the abdomen.
ATTENTION: Before using the harness, perform a positioning test in a safe location. Make sure that the harness fits properly
and guarantees the necessary comfort of work.
CONNECTING OTHER FALL ARREST DEVICES
The fall arrest device must be connected only to the attaching elements of the har-
ness marked by capital letter A. So it can be connected directly to the dorsal attach-
ing ring (1) or to both the sternal attaching loops (2), if present. It is strictly forbidden
to attach the fall arrest device to only one sternal attaching loop.
The dorsal attaching ring is marked by capital letter A, marked on the crossing plate
with arrows indicating the ring. Sternal attaching loops are marked by an half of the
capital letter A placed on the label sewn into each loops. See drawing.
ATTENTION: It is strictly forbidden to attach any fall arrest device to the rings of
positioning belt.
CONNECTING THE POSITIONING LANYARD
Positioning lanyard could be connected only to the lateral rings of the positioning belt. According to EN 358, positioning lanyard
must be anchored to the point of construction that is situated at waist level or above. Positioning lanyard must be kept taut to
restrict the free fall to a maximum 0,5 m.
ATTENTION: It is strictly forbidden to attach any positioning system to the attaching points of the harness
ATTENTION: It's strictly forbidden to attach fall arrest devices or positioning systems to the tool hangers. Use only with light,
hand tools or small bags.
NOTES
Before using a fall arrest system, of which the full body harness is a component, you have to check that all devices are cor-
rectly connected. They can work without any trouble and they are certified with the obligatory standards:
- EN 353-1, EN 353-2, EN 354, EN 355, EN 360, EN 361, EN 362: for fall arrest system.
- EN 795: for anchor devices.
- EN 341: for descender devices.
USE
During use, the device should be protected from a contact with oils, acids, solvents, basics, open fire, hot metal drops and
sharp edges. You should avoid using the device in the dust laden and greasy environment.
WITHDRAWN FROM USE
The PPE must be withdrawn from use immediately when:
- any doubt arises about its good condition or its right functioning
- it has been used to arrest a fall
The PPE must be sent to the device manufacturer or to his certified representative to carry out a detailed inspection and to
value its eventual repair or destruction.
PERIODIC REVIEWS
After each 12 months of utilization the PPE must be withdrawn from use for carrying out the periodic review.
During this inspection will be established admissible time for the PPE use till next periodic review. After this period, it is strictly

recorded in the Identity Card. The periodic reviews and the updating of the Identity Card can be carried out by the manufac-
turer or by his authorized representative only.
ADMISSIBLE TIME OF USE
The expected average life of the PPE, if it is kept as specified in this informative note and it is subjected to all periodic reviews,
is 5 years from first use date.
THE ESSENTIAL PRINCIPLES OF USE OF PPE AGAINST FALLS FROM A HEIGHT
- PPE shall only be used by a person trained and competent in its safe use.
- PPE must not be used by a person with medical condition that could affect the safety of the equipment user in normal and emergency use.
- A rescue plan shall be in place to deal with any emergencies that could arise during the work.
- It is forbidden to make any alterations or additions to the PPE without the manufacturer's prior written consent.
- Any repair shall only be carried out by the equipment manufacturer or his certified representative.
- PPE shall not be used outside its limitations, or for any purpose other than that for which it is intended.
- PPE should be a personal issue item.
- Before use ensure about the compatibility of items of equipment assembled into a fall arrest system.
- Periodically check connecting and adjusting of the equipment components to avoid accidental loosening or disconnecting of the components.
- It is forbidden to use combinations of PPE in which the safe function of any items is affected by or interferes with the safe function of another.
- Before each use of PPE it is obligatory to carry out a pre-use check of the equipment, to ensure that it is in a serviceable condition and operates correctly.
- During pre-use check it is necessary to inspect all elements of the equipment in respect of any damages, excessive wear, corrosion, abrasion, cutting or incorrect acting,
especially take into consideration: in full body harnesses and belts: buckles, adjusting elements, attaching points, webbings, seams, loops; in energy absorbers: attaching
loops, webbing, seams, connectors; in textile lanyards or lifelines or guidelines: rope, loops, thimbles, connectors, adjusting element, splices; in steel lanyards or lifelines
or guidelines: cable, wires, clips, ferrules, loops, thimbles, connectors, adjusting elements; in retractable fall arresters: cable or webbing, retractor and brake proper act-
ing, casing, energy absorber, connector; in guided type fall arresters: body of the fall arrester, sliding function, locking gear acting, rivets and screws, connector, energy
absorber; in connectors: main body, rivets, gate, locking gear acting.
- It is essential for the safety of the user that if the product is re-sold outside the original country of destination the reseller shall provide instructions for use, for maintenance,

for periodic examination and for repair in language of the country in which the product is to be used.
- A full body harness conformed to EN 361 is the only acceptable body holding device that can be used in a fall arrest system.
- In full body harness use only attaching points marked with big letter "A" to attach a fall arrest system. Marking like "A/2" or a half of "A" means the necessity of attaching a fall
arrest system to both attaching points together simultaneously. It is strictly forbidden to attach a fall arrest system to the single attaching point marked "A/2" or a half of "A".
- There are many hazards that may affect the performance of the equipment and corresponding safety precautions that have to be observed during equipment utilization,
especially:- trailing or looping of lanyards or lifelines over sharp edges; any defects like cutting, abrasion, corrosion; climatic exposure; pendulum falls; extremes of tem-
perature; chemical reagents; electrical conductivity.
- PPE can be cleaned without causing adverse effect on the materials in the manufacture of the equipment. For textile products use mild detergents for delicate fabrics, wash
by hand or in a machine and rinse in water. Plastic parts can be cleaned only with water. When the equipment becomes wet, either from being in use or when due clean-
ing, it shall be allowed to dry naturally, and shall be kept away from direct heat. In metallic products some mechanic parts (spring, pin, hinge, etc.) can be regularly slightly
lubricated to ensure better operation. Other maintenance and cleaning procedures should be adhered to detailed instructions stated in the manual of the equipment.
- PPE must be transported in its original package.
- PPE must be stored in their original packaging, in a well-ventilated place, protected from direct light, ultraviolet degradation, damp environment, sharp edges, extreme
temperatures and corrosive substances.
- The PPE must be disposed of in compliance with the local regulations in force on this subject (dump, incinerator).
- In the case of manufacturing defects this PPE will be replaced.
