Do not apply the brake
while the shaft is

emergency braking
such as a mains supply
failure.
ATTENTION
Where fitted, fail safe brake is usually
24V dc, and is not polarity conscious. It
is recommended that you fit a reversed
polarity diode across the brake coil, or
at the relay contacts, together with the
appropriate R/C (Resistor/Capacitor) noise
suppression.
To release the brake, the coil must be
energised.
The brake can only take a limited number
of emergency braking operations and must
not be used for repeated dynamic braking.

SERVICING
The only servicing
performed is to clean the motor surface.
Do not use degreasing agents in the vicinity
of the bearings.
The bearings are
Unimotors are specified for 20,000 hours
bearing life, under normal load condition,
after this period maintenance will be
required. This should be carried out by
LEROY-SOMER or at an approved repair
centre.
Within the warranty
SOMER will repair or replace motors found
to have suffered a failure due to materials,
workmanship or
required, LEROY-SOMER reserve the right
to evaluate the application for correct motor
use.
The warranty is void if the motor is
dismantled or repaired by someone other
than LEROY-SOMER or at an approved
repair centre.
