DECONTRACTION
When?
To obtain a reduction in the muscular tension.
Why?
Studies have revealed that muscular twitches produced by a very
low frequency (1 Hz) effectively reduces the muscle tension of the
stimulated muscles.
How?
Torticollis, lumbago.
Example
Electrodes positioned according to the muscles where you want to
reduce tension. See suggested electrodes placements on the fold out
cover.
Electrodes
The stimulation should feel pleasant and give visible muscle twitches.
Visible muscle twitches are the key factor for effectiveness of the
treatment.
Intensity
If the patient experiences discomfort and pain during stimulation, the
2+2 function allows this programme (ch 1+2) to be combined with a pain
relief programme (ch 3+4).
Option 2+2
Yes. If the patient experience discomfort during stimulation, the 2+2
function allows this program (ch 1+2) to be combined with a TENS
program (ch 3+4) to produce the muscular twitches more quickly and
more comfortably.
