4.4 Pulizia steli

Questa operazione può essere eseguita a forcella installata sul motociclo.
I raschiapolvere delle forcelle Marzocchi sono lubrifi cati con grasso per facilitare
lo scorrimento dei tubi portanti soprattutto dopo un lungo periodo di inattività
della forcella.
Con l'utilizzo della sospensione, questo grasso può sciogliersi e aderire ai tubi
portanti dando l'impressione di una perdita di lubrifi cante.
Ispezionare la sospensione per essere certi che non si tratti di un'effettiva perdita
d'olio. Dopo ogni utilizzo pulire accuratamente le superfi ci esterne della forcella,
prestando particolare attenzione ai tubi portanti ed ai raschiapolvere.

TTENZIONE
In presenza di perdite d'olio dalla forcella, non utilizzare la moto. Eliminare
qualsiasi perdita d'olio prima di utilizzare nuovamente la moto.
Smontaggio
•
Pulire accuratamente il tubo portante (44) prima di eseguire questa operazione.
•
Con un piccolo cacciavite scalzare il raschiapolvere (16) dal portastelo (11),
evitando di rigare o danneggiare il tubo portante e il portastelo.
•
Abbassare il raschiapolvere lungo il tubo portante e con un getto d'aria
compressa pulire l'interno del raschiapolvere e la sede sul portastelo.
•
Lubrifi care con grasso siliconato il raschiapolvere e la superfi cie visibile
dell'anello di tenuta.

TTENZIONE
Durante l'utilizzo eventuali insetti possono attaccarsi sulla superfi cie degli
steli, se non rimossi prontamente possono causare gravi danni al sistema
di sospensione.

TTENZIONE
Evitare assolutamente di utilizzare attrezzi metallici per eliminare particelle
di sporco.
•
Far compiere agli steli una breve corsa e rimuovere dai tubi portanti (44) le
eventuali impurità.
•
Rimuovere l'eventuale anello di olio/grasso ed impurità che si forma con
panno morbido.
•
Lubrifi care con grasso siliconato il raschiapolvere e la superfi cie visibile
dell'anello di tenuta.
Rimontaggio
•
Far scorrere il raschiapolvere (16) sul portastelo (11), e farlo aderire nella
sua sede con le mani.

4.4 Cleaning The Fork Legs

OTE
This operation can be carried out with the fork installed on the motorcycle.
Marzocchi lubricates the dust seals of its forks with grease to help the stanchion
tubes slide easier, particularly when the forks have not been used for a long
period of time.
Use of the forks can melt the grease, causing it to stick to the stanchions, and
give the appearance of an oil leak.
Inspect the forks to ensure that this is not the result of an oil leak. After every use,
carefully clean the fork's outside surfaces, with special attention to stanchion
tubes and dust seals.

ARNING
If your forks develop an oil leak, do not ride your bike. Correct the leak
before you ride again.
Dismantling
•
Carefully clean the stanchion tube (44) before carrying out this operation.
•
Using a small screwdriver, prize the dust seal (16) off the slider (11) without
scratching or damaging the stanchion tube and the slider.
•
Slide the dust seal along the stanchion tube. Clean inside the dust seal and its
seat on the slider with a jet of compressed air.
•
Lubricate the dust seal and the visible surface of the sealing ring with silicon grease.

Insects can stick to the surface of the legs during use, they can cause
serious damage to the suspension system if not quickly removed.

Never use metal tools to clean any particles of dirt.
•
Compress the fork legs slightly and remove any traces of dirt from the
stanchion tubes (44).
•
Remove any oil/grease and traces of dirt with a soft cloth.
•
Lubricate the dust seal and the visible surface of the sealing ring with silicon grease.
Re-assembly
•
Slide the dust seal (16) onto the slider (11), and press it into its housing with
your hands.
