Filling the water tank during use

No special operation is necessary when the water in the tank runs out as the machine is equipped with a special self-priming
device. Just unplug the machine, pull out the tank and fill it with fresh cool water again up to the "MAX" level.

HOW TO MAKE CAPPUCCINO

To prepare a cappuccino or heat any other beverage, press the button (P). The lamp (O) stays on, showing that the steam
function has been switched on. The lamp (Q) turns on to show that the water in the boiler has started to heat up. The ma-
chine has reached the right temperature for dispensing steam when the lamp (Q) turns off.
Now turn the steam dispensing knob (C) counter-clockwise, having the foresight to position a cup underneath the MAXI
CAPPUCCINO device (G): at first a little water will come out, immediately followed by a strong jet of steam (Fig. 9). Now
turn the knob (C) clockwise and put the pot of milk to be whipped underneath the MAXI CAPPUCCINO device. Plunge the
wand all the way into the pot of milk and turn the knob (C) until you get the result you want.
When the cappuccino is ready, turn off the steam function by pressing the button (P) again.
During these operations you may notice that the warning light (Q) goes on and off from time to time, indicating that the boiler
thermostat is keeping the water required for the steam supply at the right temperature.
It is opportune you start dispensing the steam only when this indicator lamp is off. Dispense the steam for a few
seconds after every use in order to free the hole of any milk residue.

MAKING FURTHER CUPS OF COFFEE

Warning!
Steam is still inside the boiler! Even if you have turned off the steam function, do not turn the knob (C). There is a
danger of burns causes by squirts of hot water and steam that might come out of the cappuccino maker.
When the cappuccino is ready and the steam function has been turned off by pressing the button (P), the lamp (O) will turn
off and the lamp (Q) will stay off. The temperature of the water in the boiler is still high, and might compromise the taste of
the coffee. So to dispense a cup of coffee right after making a cappuccino, you have to wait for the boiler temperature to go
back to the optimum temperature for making coffee.
To speed up the boiler cooling process, all you have to do is put a cup underneath the dispensing spout (B) and press the
button (R) to make hot water come out of the spout, thus lowering the boiler temperature.
Warning!
Do not touch the hot water coming out of the spout. Danger of burns.
The lamp (Q) will turn on a few seconds later to indicate the boiler thermostat has intervened. The machine will be ready
for making coffee as soon as the lamp (Q) turns off again. It is advisable to remove the capsule previously used before
dispensing hot water from the spout.
Warning!
Little puffs of steam may come out of the closed capsule holder while dispensing. This phenomenon is to be con-
sidered absolutely normal.

HOW TO MAKE TEA, BARLEY COFFEE OR TISANES

When the machine is ready, i.e. the lamp (Q) is off, put an Ariete Capricci tea, barley coffee or tisane capsule inside the
capsule holder (Fig. 6). Close the capsule holder cover by pressing the lever (F) until you hear it click (Fig. 7). Place a cup
underneath the dispenser (B). To savour the beverage at its maximum deliciousness, pre-brew it by pressing the dispensing
button (R) for two or three seconds, then release it, Fig. 5. The blend in the capsule will become damp, taking on greater
body. Press the button (R) again after a few seconds to start dispensing, then press it again to stop it. The maximum quantity
for two cups is 200 ml.
Let the beverage sit in the cup for at least thirty seconds before drinking it so that the flavour and aroma become more
intense.
When the type of capsule is changed, for example when you remove a coffee capsule and put a tea capsule inside, it is
recommended you perform the following operations: remove the used capsule (Fig. 8) and close the capsule holder again
by pressing the lever (F) until you hear it click. Place a glass underneath the dispenser (B) and dispense a little bit of water
by pressing the button (R). Stop dispensing by pressing the button (R), open the capsule holder and put in a new capsule.
This allows you to get a product that does not have a blend of aromas.
