11.4 Relay Module MR8

MR8 is a supplementary module which is located outside the DCC 8 plus Panel box.
The MR8 contains 8 changeover contact relays. When using all 16 zones, the DCC 8plus needs
two relay modules.
11.4.1

Configuration of the MR8:

Should zones numbered 1 to 8 be used, a jumper is set at outputs 1 - 8 of the MR8 mother board;
should the jumper be set at outputs 9 - 16, zones numbered 9 to 16 will be used.
The MR8 relay contact type (normally closed or normally open) is determined by configuring the
NO/NC outputs inside the housing. Setting the jumper at the NO output will normally open the
contact; setting the jumper at the NC output will normally close the contact.
Special Jumper 1
When this jumper is set, the first zone relay is activated by the module relays after the button
[ Silence Alarms ] on the control panel is pressed upon an alarm event.
11.4.2

Performance of the MR8:

The MR8 Relays (outside of the panel) are activated upon an alarm event (fire) in the respective
zone they are connected to.
•
If a "Sounder Delay" is set in the main control panel, this delay will also reflect to the relay
activation of the first alarm.
•
The relay activation delay is eliminated by pressing the button [ Sound Alarms ],
the relay and the sounders are immediately enabled.
•
If only one zone is set with a delay, than only this relay will take affect to the delay. All
other will be activated corresponding to the zones.
•
The relay will restore its normal state only after pressing [ Reset ] at the control panel.

Do not connect or disconnect an expander when the power is on!
Before connecting or disconnecting the expander you SHOULD check
whether the main and the stand-by power supplies are OFF!
Note!
The MR8 can only be connected and operated from a DCC 8 plus in "Master" mode!
