2 General safety instructions

3 General information

The DCC 8 plus has been manufactured to comply with current safety standards.
However, operation error or incorrect use can cause danger for:
•
the life and limb of user or a third party
•
the DCC 8 plus and other material assets of the operator
• the efficient usage of the fire control panel
2.1

Intended application

The DCC 8 plus is exclusively designed and produced for analysing and reporting the measured
data (that have been) recorded by the conventional smoke and thermal detectors.
For specified normal operation it is also important to:
•
attend and follow the safety instructions in this manual,
detectomat GmbH is not liable for defects which occur due to incorrect usage of the DCC 8 plus.
2.2

Operator requirements

Installation, launching (commissioning) and maintenance should only be carried out by competent
trained staff.
The DCC 8 plus is a conventional microprocessor fire control panel, designed according to EN 54
Standard requirements. The panel provides for monitoring and reporting fire events in up to 16
separate zones, depending on the installed configuration.
The DCC 8 plus must be installed according to the Fire Alarm Installation Regulations, mandatory
for the territory of the respective country. The electrical power supply to the panel must be isolated
and must not be capable of being accidentally switched off. The power switch-off board should
display a clear FIRE ALARM - DO NOT SWITCH OFF label.
Note!
A [ Reset ] must always be done after setting or changing a jumper!
