Check periodically the oil level, eventually refill with recommanded oil types (see Variators
Lubrication).
Avoid mixing syntetic and mineral lubricants.
First change of oil
In case of a new variator, change the oil after 200 operating hours.
Change of oil
After the first change, every 2000 operating hours for mineral oils, 4000 for syntetic
ones.
Filters
With oil changing, replace eventual filters on speed controls:
• type FRAN 2839 for speed control Cod.37
• type 50301 at draw. 95.00.267 for speed controls Cod. 31,52,65,66,67.
Cleaning
Check that the fan cowl of variator (K5) and motor are not clogged with dust, fibres or
other.
In order to safeguard the efficiency of the variator at stock, it's necessary to observe the
following indications for stocking:
Stock the variators in appropriate envinroments with a low humidity level,
Place them possibly onto shelves,
In case of prolonged stocking periods (more then 2-3 months), lubricate the external parts
which could be subjected to oxidation (shaft and machined parts).
The variators should be completely filled up with oil (to avoid internal rust) and then reset
the level oil during installation.
When installing after long stocking period, run variator at low speed without load for half
an hour.
Maintenance
Irregular operation
If the speed variator does not operate properly (decrease
in the number of rpm or increase the noise level) first
check the oil level, making sure it reaches the indicated
level but not exceed it.
In order to bleed the air in the circuit unscrew the relief
valve plug (see illustration).
