Var-Spe asks customers to pay attention on some own features of variators that could be
limiting parameters in some particular applications.
SURAFACE TEMPERATURE
The maximum surface temperaturre on housing depends on working

hours per day, overloads, right dimensioning and ambient temperature.
Following instructions for lubrication and with room temperature lower
than 40°C the housing can reach the values on table, without injuring

integrity and the good working of the variator.
K4 85÷95

If the room temperature is higher than 40°C, contact Var-Spe Technical
Dept.: you have to use appropriate oils, check the service factor and
eventually install an oil cooler.
For room temperature lower than -15°C, contact Var-Spe Technical Dept.: use appropria-
te oils and check if install a pre-heater.
NOISE
The sonorous level of variator, in conditions of max noise (at max speed), is indicated on
table.
If higher noise level occurs, it depends on the wrong installation of variators into the ma-
chine structure, that facilitates the propagation of vibrations, making an acustic resonance
that increases the noise level.
A stratagem to limit this to limit this phenomenon is to isolate the elements with motion
from the metal structure by using anti-vibration supports.
INPUT SPEED
The maximum allowed speed on input shaft is 1750rpm, like a 4 poles motor used with
60Hz. Don't use 2 poles motor.
USE LIMITS
Written authorization from Var-Spe is required to operate or use our variators in man lift
or people moving devices. Particularly, the variators don't have the handbreake function
(ref. lift, hoist, etc...)
