Remove

starchy contaminants, plastic or al-
uminium foil from the hot glass ce-
ramic immediately using a stand-
ard sharp scraper. While doing so
protect hands from burns with ov-
en gloves or pot holders.
Induction hob:

Metallic objects such as knives,

forks, spoons and lids should not
be placed on the hob surface since
they can get hot.
Fire hazard!
Do not cover the appliance with blan-

kets, cloths or similar, as these objects
may become hot and catch fire.
If a fire starts, immediately switch
■
off the appliance and switch off the
automatic circuit breakers and/or un-
screw the fuses. To extinguish the fire,
use a suitable fire extinguisher with
the designation 'F' or a fire blanket.
Hob
■
Unattended cooking on a hob with fat
or oil can be dangerous and may result
in fire.

NEVER try to extinguish a fire with
water, but switch off the appliance
and then cover flame e. g. with a lid
or fire blanket

If you are preparing food with alco-
hol, do not leave the cooker unat-
tended! Food may ignite of its own
accord.

Acrylamide
Acrylamide is produced when starch is
exposed to excessive heat, e.g. in pota-
toes (fries, chips), biscuits, toast, bread,
etc.
Keep cooking times as short as pos-
■
sible.
Only brown the food slightly, do not
■
allow it to brown too much.
Cut larger-sized fries and then bake
■
at maximum of 180°C.
When frying potatoes using raw po-
■
tato discs or frying potato fritters in
a frying pan, it is better to use mar-
garine (with a minimum fat content
of 80 %) or oil with a little margarine
instead of pure oil.
The cooking process has to be super-
vised. A short term cooking process
has to be supervised continuously.
Use only hob guards designed by
the manufacturer of the cooking
appliance or indicated by the man-
ufacturer of the appliance in the
instructions for use as suitable or
hob guards incorporated in the ap-
pliance. The use of inappropriate
guards can cause accidents.
After use, switch off the hob ele-
ment by its control and do not rely
on the pan detector.
