7) Apply marine grease to the pin of the throttle arm. Set the two 10 mm washers and the throttle rod on the throttle
arm, and install the 9 mm E-ring securely as shown.
Apply marine grease to the fulcrum of the throttle arm.

Set the throttle arm in the cutout in the guide plate as shown.
8) Assemble the throttle arm/throttle rod assembly with the shift frame assembly.

9) Set the throttle arm/throttle rod/shift frame assembly, which is assembled in the step 8, on the tiller handle assembly
while aligning the steel ball with the groove in the housing.
10) Tighten the three 5 x 12 mm bolts to the specified torque. Note that the throttle arm does not interfere with the cutout

in the guide plate this time.
TORQUE: 4.5 N . m (0.5 kgf . m, 3.3 lbf . ft)

11) Secure the shift frame assembly by tightening the two 6 x 12 mm bolt washers to the specified torque.
TORQUE: 7 N . m (0.7 kgf . m, 5.2 lbf . ft)

12) Tighten the 5 mm hex nut of the throttle rod to the specified torque (P. 16-20).
TORQUE: 1.3 N . m (0.1 kgf . m, 1.0 lbf . ft)

13) Apply marine grease to the indicated position of the
housing and to the outer surface of the bushing, then install

the bushing on the housing.
Install the new 20.6 x 1.9 mm O-ring on the shift lever.

Apply marine grease to the sliding surfaces of the shift
lever and lever stopper.

14) Install the shift lever and the lever stopper aligning the
square parts of both the shift lever and lever stopper with
the square holes in the shift gear as shown. Tighten the 8 x
50 mm socket bolt securely.
Install the cap on the housing.
