the negative terminal of the battery.
ATTENTION: DANGER!
If the warning light comes on (Fig. A-1) and
the buzzer sounds this means "REVERSE
POLARITY", DANGER!
In these circumstances NEVER switch on the vehicle,
and remove the cables immediately!
Make sure the vehicle battery and starter battery
polarities are correct before making the connections
described above.
- Position the starter's switch at ON: this can be done by
pressing it and then rotating it clockwise by 90° (FIG.
A-2).
- Turn the ignition switch or key of the vehicle or boat to
ON. Wait about one minute. Turn the vehicle ignition to
the start position for no more than 3÷4 seconds. If the
vehicle or boat does not start, wait at least 3 minutes
before trying again.
Careful: Always stop the black and red
clamps from touching each other or a
common cable.
Follow the sequence of instructions scrupulously while
the engine is running.
1. Switch off the starter: switch positioned at "OFF".
2. Disconnect the black clamp (negative) from the vehicle.
3. Disconnect the red clamp (positive) from the vehicle.
4. Return the clamps to their correct seat.
It is highly recommended to recharge the starter as soon
as possible.
Using the starter as a 12V DC power supply:
- Take the cover off the cigar-lighter type socket (Fig.
A-3).
- Insert the cigar-lighter plug of the device to be powered
into the socket (Fig. A-3).
Using the starter as a 5V DC power supply:
- Raise the USB port cover (Fig. A-4).
- Insert the USB cable of the device to be powered into
the socket (Fig. A-4).
- Press the button seen in Fig. A-5: the led seen in Fig.
A-6 will light up to indicate the USB port is in use.
Attention: never connect this USB port
directly to a USB port on a computer: this
could seriously damage both devices!
Using reflectors with flashing LED's:
In the event of an emergency, it is possible to place the
starter on the roadside and activate the reflectors with
flashing LED's by pressing the button seen in Fig. A-7.
Using the LED lamp:
The LED lamp is magnetically attached to the starter
(Fig. A-9). You can remove the lamp to use it, simply
grasp it with your hand and pull it towards you. The lamp
has a rechargeable battery: the lamp is automatically
recharged when placed in its housing on the starter with
the switch turned to the OFF position/
RECHARGING
Important! To protect the battery and lengthen its
working life, charge it for 12 hours before using it for
the first time, then after every time it is used and, in
any case, at least every 3 months.
The unit can be recharged using a 230V AC power supply
(using the power supply adapter supplied) or using a 12V
DC power supply. We recommend keeping the battery
fully charged at all times. A low charge level could shorten
the life of the battery. Bear in mind that the time needed
to recharge the battery depends on the number of times it
has been used as a starter. To check whether the battery
needs recharging, press the switch seen in fig. A-10.
The three LED'ps seen in Fig. A-13 indicate the charge
status of the battery, with the following meanings:
-
-
-
The red "Charging" LED (Fig. A-11) will light up when unit
is being charged.
The green "Remove Charger" LED (Fig. A-12) will light
up when the unit is being charged to indicate that the
control device that protects the adaptor or battery has
been triggered. It is recommended to disconnect the
adaptor jack from the recharger socket.
Recharging using a 230V AC power supply
1-
To start with, insert the power supply adaptor plug
(Fig. B-1) into a 230V AC socket.
Then insert the relative output plug (Fig. B-2) into the
charger socket (Fig. A-8).
2-
The "Charging" LED comes on and the starter is in
recharge mode. The starter is fitted with a control
device to prevent overcharging the battery and
adaptor. Leave the system to recharge for as long as
necessary.
N.B.: to check the battery level disconnect the
adaptor and press the button seen in Fig. A-10: The
LED's seen in Fig. A-13 indicate the charge status of
the battery, with the meanings indicated above.
Recharging onboard the vehicle using 12V DC power
supply:
1-
Insert the cigar-lighter plug of the supplied cable
(Fig. B-3) into the socket onboard the car or boat.
2-
Insert the jack (Fig. B-4) of the supplied cable into
the recharger socket on the starter (Fig. A-8).
NOTE: this function is used to keep the charge level of
the starter as high as possible whilst travelling and may
not allow complete recharging.

DISPOSING OF THE BATTERY

When the starter battery is completely run down it should
taken be to a re-cycling depot. In some countries this is
mandatory. Contact the local special refuse authority for
information on recycling.
.
WARNING: Do not burn the battery to dispose of it.
This could cause an explosion. Before disposing of the
battery, apply insulating tape to the bare terminals to
prevent shorting. Do not expose the battery to intense
heat or fire as this could cause an explosion.
