Symptoms
Possible causes
Remedy

Loss of measuring accuracy.
(1) Mounting not secure.
(2) MH8 not fully locked.
(3) Force imparted to probe after locking.
(4) MH8 overloaded.
(5) Faulty probe.
(6) MH8 worn or damaged.
(1) Check that the MH8 is correctly
mounted to the shank and that the
screws are secure. Check the
clamping mechanism in the CMM
quill.
(2) Ensure that the lock lever is turned
fully clockwise.
(3) Unlock and re-lock MH8.
(4) Use only with the specified probe and
extension combinations.
(5) Check by substitution.
(6) Check by substitution or return to
Renishaw or your supplier.
