4.0 Installation - Start-up

Careful and proper installation and the quality of the water are key to the smooth
operation of the pump. Mistakes in installing the pump can result in injury to pers-
ons and damage to the equipment, as well as to early wearing of the pump!
The pumps should preferably be installed with an auxiliary attachment attached to
their suspension loop! Never carry the pumps by their connecting cable or lower
them into the pond with this!
Diagram 3 shows the permissible forms of construction! Diagram 4 shows how
the pump is installed
USP pumps should only ever be installed with their drive shafts in a
horizontal position
Install preferably on a flat concrete base, profile supports or the OASE pump
mounting bracket (item 52086) and fasten with 4 base screws (M10)! Use screws
for pump connections or slide valves for flanged connections! Support the pipes
directly on either side of the pump and lay them so that there is no tension!
Use of the pump as a block pump in a dry location!: (Diagram 5)
Remove the 2 tension screws at the base of the pump and dismantle the suction
filter.
There is a threaded connection point with internal thread on the intake side of the
pump housing.
Fasten screws to base again and fit the pipe connection!
Before starting up the pump, it should be submerged in the liquid to be pumped for
approx. 1 hour!
After checking all the connection values, the pump should be operated for 10
minutes against a nearly closed throttle valve, so that the motor bearing is
completely filled with the liquid being pumped!
Thereafter the fountain head can be adjusted!

5.0 Electric motor connection

The electrical connection and the required protection must be carried out in
accordance with the local regulations of the electricity supplier and the VDE
(German Association of Electrical Engineers)! The data specified on the type plate
must correspond to the existing electricity supply!
The electrical connection may only be carried out by an approved
electrician.
The German industrial standard DIN VDE 0100 Part 738 applies to all
fountain installations!
A tolerance of + 6% and - 10 % applies to the nominal voltage

All performance data of the pump can be found on the type plate! A second type
plate is enclosed with the operating instructions! The connecting cable of the
pump has a conductor cross-section of 1.5 mm² and is 10 m long.
