2.1 Safety guidelines for installation and start-up

The persons carrying out the installation and start-up must be suitably qualified! Responsibility
and monitoring must be precisely arranged by the operator!
The operating instructions must be available at the location where the system is being used at
all times!
The safety guidelines listed in these operating instructions, the existing national
regulations on accident prevention, as well as the internal regulations of the
operator all have to be observed!
The electrical connection may only be carried out by an approved
electrician in accordance with the local regulations of the electricity
supplier and the VDE (German Association of Electrical Engineers)!

2.2 Safety guidelines for the operator

Dangers through electrical energy must be excluded!
Pumps may only be operated from proper electricity supply systems via a fuse,
motor-protection switch and FI switch. The pump must be supplied with a measured
fault current not greater than 30 mA via a fault current protection switch (RCD).
The regulations of German industrial standard DIN VDE 0100 Part 738
must be observed!
Only switch on pumps when they are completely filled with water!
Do not operate the pump if the cable or housing appear to be defective!
If used as a submersed pump, no persons are allowed in the water!

2.3 Safety guidelines for maintenance work

Adjustment, maintenance and cleaning work should only be carried by qualified
persons!
The pump must be stopped and disconnected from the electricity supply before
carrying out any work on it!
Make sure that the pump cannot be switched on accidentally!
If the connecting lead of this pump is damaged, it has to be replaced by the
manufacturer or his customer services department or a similarly qualified person
in order to avoid danger.

3.0 Appropriate use

OASE USP pumps are single-level, non-self-priming centrifugal pumps, designed
for operating medium-sized fountain, waterfall and watercourse systems and also
as a single unit in hydraulic organs and jumping-jet systems that are operated with
virtually clean water!
