Operating staff must have access to these operating and
installation instructions at all times. Read carefully through
these operating and installation instructions before installing
the blower and putting it into service.
Specifi cations are subject to change. In case of doubt the
manufacturer should always be consulted. This document is

duplication or recording and storing in electronic form is pro-
hibited.
1 MACHINE SPECIFICATIONS
Please refer to the cover page for our full address details.
For details of the scope of validity of these operating and
installation instructions, please refer to the declaration of in-
corporation contained in annex II 1 B.
The specifi cations shown on page 16 are valid for serial
production. Your blower may deviate from these (refer to
the rating plate). In such a case, please observe the further
commonly valid documents included or the operating and in-
stallation instructions that then apply.

Rating plate
The data on the rating plate is the sole determining factor for
connection, maintenance and ordering of spare parts. The
unit's serial number and year of manufacture are also to be
found on the rating plate.

1.1 Designated use
The blowers are exclusively designed for conveying gaseous
media without solids.
Any solid matter or impurities in the medium to be conveyed
must be fi ltered out before they enter the blower. We recom-
mend a condensed water borehole at the lowest point in the
housing in the event of the formation of condensation.

Use of the blowers for
• aggressive,
• abrasive,
• sticky,
• toxic,
• potentially explosive or
• very moist
media is not permissible.
The temperature of medium being conveyed must not fall
below -20°C or exceed +80°C. Any particles or contaminants
in the medium being conveyed must be fi ltered out before
entry into the blower.
With the series-production blower, the ambient temperature
must not fall below -20°C or exceed +60° C.
The blower is not suitable for installation outdoors. The blow-
er is fundamentally designed for S1 operation (continuous
operation). However, a maximum of 30 switching operations
per hour are permitted.
The blower is not suitable for conveying, or installation in,
atmospheres that are potentially explosive.
Special versions for use outside the limits of the applications
described above are available upon request. Reconstruction
or modifi cation of the blower is not permissible. In the case
of special devices, the advice in the accompanying supple-
mentary operating and installation instructions must be noted
and adhered to. They deviate in certain places from these
operating and installation instructions.
A distinguishing feature of Elektror blowers is their high de-
gree of operational reliability. Since the blowers described
here are very powerful machines, the following safety instruc-
tions must be strictly observed to avoid injury or damage to
property or the blower itself.
1.2 Mechanical hazards
Mechanical hazards on Elektror blowers are kept to a mini-
mum in keeping with health and safety requirements and the
state of the art. To exclude any residual risks due to handling,
we recommend that suitable protective gear is deployed or
worn in all phases of the unit's life (please observe the advice
given below).
1.3 Hazards arising from reaching in and unexpected
start-up
When in operation, a high risk of injury exists from rotating
parts inside the unit. Before opening, reaching in or inserting
tools into the unit, always put it out of operation and wait until
all moving parts have come to a standstill. Ensure that the
unit is reliably secured against unintentional start-up for the
entire duration.
Also make sure that a hazardous situation does not ensue as
a result of starting up after a period at standstill. For example,
after a power interruption or blockade has occurred.
SVD blowers may be supplied without wire mesh guards on
the intake and discharge sides. To prevent injuries due to
Hz
reaching in, or from conveying medium fl ung out, hose or
V
pipe lines must be fi rmly connected to the intake and dis-
A
charge sides during the entire period of operation.
1.4 Weight, Secure standing
Dangers of toppling over or falling down exist, especially dur-
ing transportation and installation. See 2.1 - Transport and
handling, as well as 3.1 - Placement and installation.
1.5 Suction effect
Warning!
During operation do not linger near the suction
opening! Operation without a wire mesh guard
on the intake side is permitted only if protection
