3. Connect the discharge hose to the discharge outlet and immerse or
submerge the NAUTILUS 8/1 in the medium to be pumped.
CAUTION: Never place the pump on muddy ground! If necessary,
create a firm base (using e.g. stones); the base should be flat (< 10°).
You can also operate the pump in a hanging position on a working
rope.
CAUTION: Lay the cable loosely; do not pull around corners
or edges.
CAUTION: Never use the cable for transporting, pulling out or
anchoring the submersible pump! When transporting the pump clip the
karabiner on the working rope into the eyes provided!
CAUTION: When routing hoses and cables, make sure that there are
no kinks and do not route over sharp edges.
4. Connect the CEE plug and use the motor protection/on/off switch to switch
on the NAUTILUS 8/1.
5. Do not allow the pump to run dry for extended periods of time; this can
cause unnecessary wear on the seals or overheating of the motor.
CAUTION: Whenever you work on the pump, pull the plug out of the
socket for safety reasons.
CAUTION: You must not use this pump in
explosion hazard areas.
CAUTION: You must not use this pump for pumping
flammable liquids.
5.3. Checking the direction of rotation
The NAUTILUS 8/1 is equipped with a CEE connector and integrated phase
changer, and a motor protection/on/off switch with rotation direction display
effected as a red indicator light.
Before starting to use the pump, you must check the pump's direction of
rotation.
