4.3 Working procedure

Before putting the device into operation, check
the operating data of the compressed air
supply and of the device coincide.
•
Set the cutting depth using the stop (if
available).
•
Hold the rib saw firmly by both handles and
switch it on.
•
Move the saw into the meat while in
operation. Remove the saw from the meat
while it is still running and then turn it off.

4.3.1 Operating safety

•
Hold the machine firmly with both handles.
•
Work particularly carefully when the saw is
switched on.
•
Do not tilt or twist the saw blade.
•
Protective equipment on the saw must not
be removed to complete cutting.
•
After switching off, the saw blade comes to
a stop within 2 sec.; only then should you
release your grip.
•
To aid safe handling (guidance), the rib saw
should be hung on a spring balancer.

5. Assembly

Before starting any assembly
work, the rib saw must be
disconnected from the
compressed air supply!
The illustrations required for assembly are
provided in the respective section and
explosion drawings.

5.1 Changing the saw blade

Only use original EFA spare
parts!

•
Unscrew the wing nut (1) and remove the
depth stop (2) (if installed).

Lock the saw blade (3) with the locking pin
and unscrew the clamping nut (4) using a
single open-end wrench a/f 36 (right-hand
thread).
ATTENTION: SK16-8DR => Left-hand
thread!

The saw blade (3) can now be removed.
Pay attention that the sealing shim (5) is not
removed with the saw blade (3). The
sealing shim (5) can adhere to the saw
blade (3) and may need to be detached
from the saw blade (3).
•
Insert a sealing shim (5) and then a new
saw blade (3) on the square (6) of the drive
spindle.

Screw in the clamping nut (4) with the
recess against the saw blade (3) and
tighten (right-hand thread).
ATTENTION: SK16-8DR => Left-hand
thread!
