6.2 Daily maintenance

6.2.1 Lubrication
Each time the saw blade is cleaned, apply a
little acid-free, EFA special oil.
6.2.2 Saw blade
Inspect the saw blade at regular intervals. If
the self-locking effect of the hex. nut is no
longer assured, it must be replaced without
delay.
6.3 Extended maintenance (after
approx. 50 operating hours)
6.3.1 Rib saw
Grease must be applied to the device through
the lubrication nipple with 1 - 2 presses of the
grease gun.
This ensures the axle bearing and gear are
lubricated (refer to various illustrations in
Chapter "Spare and wear parts").
In the event of reduced performance or approx.
400 operating hours, check the rotor blades of
the compressed air motor for signs of wear and
replace them, if necessary (refer to Chapter
"Changing the rotor blades").
Clean or replace soiled shock absorbers.
6.3.2 Sharpening the saw blade
Incorrectly resharpened saw blades reduce
productivity and also constitute considerable
risks for the user.
We have set up a sharpening
service for you in our Service
department. In such cases,
please contact your nearest
service centre or our head office
directly.
Sharpening can also be carried out on
commercially available automatic circular saw
blade sharpening machines.
Detailed information on sharpening the saw
blade with regard to the various saw blade
geometries (teeth shapes) can be obtained
from our Service department.

could be damaged! Only use
original EFA spare parts!

6.4 Maintenance unit

In order to keep the rib saw working properly
and to maintain its expected service life, the
maintenance unit (filter pressure reducer)
should be checked at regular intervals.
•
Drain off any condensation and, if
necessary, fill up the special oil (available
from S&W).
•
Check the operating pressure (max. 7 bar)
at regular intervals.
