3.2.4 Micro Well Plates (for Mikro-Dismembrator U only)

Micro well plates are used for shaking and
homogenizing of small samples. Sometimes, specific
process solutions are added to treat the sample.
Shaking is usually done at low shaking freqencies for
smooth treatment of the sample..
1. Mount tray for micro well plates, cat.-no. 8531900, into
the connector as shown below for the holder for shaking
flasks.
2. Unscrew clamping screws of the tray. Insert micro well
plates and fasten again with clamping screws. Fasten
screws hand-tight. Fill the samples into the micro well
plates.
To avoid cross-contamination micro well plates should
be sealed with a suitable lid or adhesive tape.

The shaking frequency depends on the filling level of
the micro well plates. Usually micro well plates should
be operated at shaking frequencies of up to max.

Homogenisation of samples

3.3.1 Switching-on the Mikro-Dismembrator U

1. Switch-on the Mikro-Dismembrator U with the mains
switch on the rear of the unit. The homogenizer starts
with the operation mode, selected when the unit was
switched-off the last time, i.e. "Timer-Mode" or
"Frequency-Mode". The modes can be distinguished by
the data shown on the display. The "Timer-Mode"
displays the time [TIME 00:00 Min:Sec], the
"Frequency-Mode" displays [RPM X.XXX]). You can
switch-over to the other mode with either the key [
or [ ].
2. Enter the operation time and shaking frequency via the
numeric keys. See fig. 6 and the following paragraphs.
3. Close the cover.
The Mikro-Dismembrator U can not be started, when
the cover is open. A cut-off switch opens when the
cover is open and switches-off the unit, when running,
or prevents it from being started, respectively
The safety switch must not be disabled.
