13.2 Opening the appliance
f Pull off the temperature selector.

f Remove the screws from underneath the temperature

f Open the appliance cover by lowering the bolt screws in-

wards and pivot the cover upwards, then remove it.

13.4 Checking the protective anode
f Check the protective anode for the first time 8 years after

installation. This requires removal of the flanged immersion
heater. Replace the protective anode if consumed.
f Decide the intervals in which further checks should be car-

ried out.
13.4.1 Fitting the protective anode
f To include the steel cylinder in the equipotential bonding,
f
observe the order of the fixing elements when fitting the
protective anode.

13.5 Descaling the appliance

Never treat the protective anode with descaling agents.
f Remove the flanged immersion heater.
f
f Carefully tap the heating element to remove coarse limescale
f
deposits.
f Immerse the heating element up to the flange plate in desca-
f
ling agent.
13.6 Checking the earth conductor
f Check the earth conductor (in Germany DGUV V3 for exam-
f
ple) across a water connector and the earth conductor con-
tact of the power cable.
13.7 Replacing the power cable
The power cable must only be replaced by a qualified contractor
with an original spare part.
Note
Never remove the plastic thread holding the profile plate.
13.8 Positioning the temperature sensor in its
protective pipe
f When replacing the temperature controller and the high limit
f
safety cut-out, guide the temperature sensors into the pro-
tective pipe.
