6) WIRING AND SETTINGS
SETUP & POWERING UP
The setup of the DREI is of course easy. There is little you can do wrong
here. Proceed as follows:
1. Connect a speaker to the speaker output of the amplifier. Make sure to
match the impedance correctly. If you are using an 8 Ohm speaker cabinet,
you should connect it to the 8 Ohm output of the amplifier. Make sure to
use a high quality speaker cable for this connection
IMPORTANT NOTE: Never use more than one speaker output simultaneously.
Always only one output!
2. Connect your guitar to the input of the amplifier using a good shield-
ed instrument cable
3. Turn on the power of the amplifier (STROM) and wait for at least 30
seconds (better 2-3 minutes). During this time make check the controls of
the amplifier and turn them down a bit if you don't want to start a max
volume.
4. Turn off the standby (set the switch to „BEREIT" - which is the German
word for „READY") and start playing
POWERING DOWN
When you are finished playing the unit, turn on the standby mode (set the
second switch from the right to „AUS". Then power down the unit by set-
ting the first switch of the unit to „AUS" also. Now you can disconnect
the speaker and the mains lead from the unit.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Allow the tubes to cool down before transporting the
unit!
