9. ADMISSIBLE / PROHIBITED FUELS
The admissible fuel is wood logs. Only logs of dried wood may be used (max. water content 20%).

The wood used as fuel must have a moisture content of 20% or less and must be stored in a dry and airy
place (for example, under a roof) for one year at least (soft wood) or two years (hard wood). Damp wood
makes lighting more difficult, as a greater quantity of energy is required to evaporate the water present.
The moisture content also has the disadvantage that, when the temperature lowers, the water condenses
first in the hearth and therefore in the chimney. Fresh wood contains about 60% of H2O and it is therefore
not suitable to be burnt.
The following (among others) may not be burnt: coal, scraps, waste of bark and panels, damp or
painted wood, plastic materials. Burning any of these materials will void the warranty on the
appliance.
Paper and cardboard should only be used for lighting. Burning rubbish is prohibited and would damage the
thermo-fireplace and the chimney, by causing health damages and claims from neighbourhood by virtue of
smelling disturb.
Wood is not a long-lasting fuel so that it is not possible to have a continuous heating all over the night by
the thermo-fireplace.
ATTENTION: the continuous and protracted use of aromatic wood (eucalyptus, myrtle, tc.) quickly
damages the cast iron parts (cleavage) of the product.

LIGHTING AND FUNCTIONAL TEST
Before installing the facing and lighting the thermo-fireplace, it must be loaded and the system filled from
the open expansion tank by means of the natural fall of the water (see chapter 8.1).
ABSOLUTELY DO NOT LIGHT THE FIRE IN THE THERMO-FIREPLACE IN THE TOTAL OR PARTIAL
ABSENCE OF WATER (NOT EVEN FOR CHECKING), AS IT COULD BE IRREMEDIABLY RUINED. IN
SUCH CASE THE WARRANTY ON THE APPLIANCE IS VOIDED.
After ensuring that at least one radiator is always open, raise the door using the handle and load a small
quantity of wood.
To light the fire, we recommend using small sticks of wood with paper or other means for lighting that are
found on the market. It is forbidden to use any liquid substance as for ex. alcohol, gasoline, oil or similar.
Open the primary air completely (lever at the right Picture 2).When the wood begins to burn, you can load
more by slowly opening (raising) the door to prevent smoke from getting out, and adjust the combustion air
(register) according to the indications given in Chapter 11.
Never overload the appliance (check the table of specifications - max. quantity of fuel loadable/hourly
consumption – see Chapter 21 – Chapter 22)
Too much fuel and too much combustion air can cause overheating and damage the appliance.
Never light the fireplace when there are combustible gasses in the room.
