The combustion intensity and therefore the heating output of your appliance are influenced not only by the
regulation of the combustion air but also by the chimney. Good draught requires a more reduced regulation
of the combustion air, and poor draught requires a more precise regulation of the combustion air.
To verify efficient combustion, check that the smoke coming out of the chimney is transparent.
If the smoke is white, it means that the appliance is not regulated correctly or that the wood is too damp; if
the smoke is grey or black, it means that combustion is not complete (a greater quantity of secondary air is
needed).
Never overload the thermo-fireplace.
Too much fuel and air for the combustion can cause overheating and therefore damage ther
thermo-fireplace. The damages caused by overheating are not covered by guarantee.
The thermo-fireplace must always be used with closed door to avoid the forge effect.

OPERATION IN THE TRANSITION PERIODS

ATTENTION: never light for any reason if the installation is not completely full of water in order to
avoid a serious damage of the whole structure. The installation must always be full of water even
when the thermo-fireplace is not used. A possible no use during winter season must be faced by adding
antifreeze substances.
During transition period when the external temperatures are higher, if there is a sudden increase of
temperature it can happen that the combustion gas inside the flue are not completely sucked up. The
exhaust gases do not come out completely (intense smell of gas).
In such case, shake the grille frequently and increase the combustion air. Subsequently load a reduced
quantity of fuel in order that it burns very fast (with expansion of flames) so that the flue becomes regular.
Then check that all the openings for cleaning and the chimney connections are hermetically sealed.

CORRECT USE FOR CENTRAL HEATING

To get the best results when using the appliance for central heating, it is necessary to clarify some basic
concepts.
The system will only work very well when it arrives at full speed and the pump is always moving; only in
this condition, in fact, will the water coming from the system be hot enough to prevent condensation
phenomena inside the boiler body. If, on the other hand, the system is managed at a power which is too
low, the system will tend to operate in an intermittent way.
In practice, the pump will only operate for brief periods and only when the water exceeds 70° C but, ea ch
time the cold water which returns to the system brings the temperature under this limit, the pump stops,
waiting for it to return to 70° C.
During these pauses, the water in the radiators tends to cool down, in turn becoming cold in the boiler
when the pump is able to start again.
With this operating mode, the radiators will always be cold at the bottom and the lower part of the boiler
body will also remain almost cold, allowing the condensation of flue gases and acidic vapours which, in the
long term could cause corrosion.
To avoid this serious inconvenience, it will be necessary to regulate the combustion air so that the heat
generated is capable of keeping the pump operating constantly; only in this way will it be possible to heat
the radiators evenly, causing a return of hot water to the boiler which is enough to prevent condensation of
flue gases and consequent corrosion.

ELECTRICAL POWER SUPPLY FAILURE

In the event of an unexpected electrical power supply failure during normal system operation, it will be
necessary to carry out these simple manoeuvres to prevent the water in the boiler starting to boil as a
consequence of the lack of pump operation.
1. Close completely the primary and secondary air registers in order to smother the flame as
much as possible.
2. Close the smokes register, if existing, to limit further coming of combustive air through
possible cracks.
