AC voltage measurement
The maximum permitted input value of 600 VDC or
VAC rms max. electrically isolated from AC mains in
overvoltage category I or 300 VDC/ACrms max. in
overvoltage category II must not be exceeded un-
der any circumstances. Do not touch any circuits or
circuitry components when measuring voltages hig-
her than 25 VAC rms or 35 VDC.
For the measurement of AC currents proceed as follows:
1. Connect the red test lead with the V/Ohm socket and the black
test lead with the COM socket .
2. Set the required voltage measurement range with the rotary
switch. With AC voltage measurements (V~), 2 measurement
ranges are available: 200V and 600V.
3. Connect the test probes to the object to be measured (load, cir-
cuit, etc.).
4. The measured value is shown in the display.
Both AC voltage measurement ranges offer an input impedance of
10 MOhm in parallel with < 20 pF (AC coupled).
Note!
Because the measuring input is very sensitive, it may be that
with unconnected test leads (not connected to an object to be
measured), meaningless measured values can be displayed.
This "manifestation" is normal and disappears as soon as a
measurement is performed.

C Current measurement:
To measure DC current, proceed as follows:
1. Connect the black test lead to the COM socket and the red test
lead either to the mA socket if currents up to 200 mA max. are to
be measured, or to the 10A socket if currents between 200 mA
and 10A max. are to be measured.
2. Set the rotary switch to the required measurement range (200 µA,
2000 µA, 20 mA, 200 mA or 10 A).
3. Connect the test leads in series with the test object (see figure
below).

Do not measure currents in circuits in which volta-
ges greater than 35 V DC can occur, otherwise life
can be endangered as a result. Never measure cur-
rents greater than 10 A. Measure only in circuits
themselves fused at 10 A and in which powers
greater than 350 VA cannot occur.
Measurement of current at 10 A may be for 10 s du-
ration max. and be carried out only at intervals of 15
minutes (shunt cooling phase).
