Attention
For fixed installation, a main switch must be connected directly to
the power line in reach of the control unit or directly to the S20 MLS
control unit. Protect the mains lead for the control unit with a 3-phase
AC automatic cut-out with 3 x 10 A.
Connecting the drive to the control unit
Connecting cables in a variety of lengths are available for connecting the Becker sec-
tional door drive to the S20 MLS control unit. The connecting cable has a screwed
cable gland on both sides. The connection is via the 4-phase plug (M-motor) and the
8-phase plug (E-limit switch).
The green/yellow protective conductor must be connected to the protector terminal
PE ( ).
To switch to the setting mode, press the Buttons UP, DOWN and STOP simultaneously
for approx. 3 seconds. In the setting mode, opening or closing functions are carried
out in dead-man mode. The setting mode is displayed by a flashing LED . The func-
tions for the control inputs-impulse (IMP), light barrier (LS/LB) and safety edge are not
carried out during the setting mode, although the functionality of the safety edge and
the pre-limit switch are displayed by the LED
setting mode, again press the buttons UP, DOWN and STOP simultaneously for ap-
prox. 3 seconds. Normal mode will be displayed by the LED
UP button
Pressing the Button UP opens the door and keeps it open. When the upper end posi-
tion is reached or if a safety function responds, the door stops automatically. If the UP
button is pressed while the door is closing, the door stops instantly and after a delay of
0.5 s it moves to the upper end position.

The door is stopped by pressing the STOP button.
DOWN button
If a safety edge is used, pressing the DOWN button closes the door automatically. If
no safety edge is connected, only the dead-man mode (touch mode) is possible. If
the closing safety edge or the light barrier responds, the door stops (safety edge: stop-
ping time 0.3 s, light barrier: stopping time 0.5 s) and moves away from the obstacle
(clearance time is 2 s).
