Work area safety

❐ Keep your work area clean and well lit. Disorder or unlit work areas may result in accidents.
❐ Do not use the device in areas with a risk of explosion or in areas where fl ammable liquids,
gases or dusts are present. The device produces sparks that may ignite the dust or vapours.
❐ Keep children and other persons away from the device when in use. Distractions could cause
you to lose control of the device.

Electrical safety

❐ To prevent electric shocks, keep the device away from rain and moisture.
❐ Only connect the device to a properly installed socket with protective earth contacts. The
socket must also be easily accessible after the device has been connected. The mains voltage
must correspond to the technical data of the device (see chapter "Technical data"). Only use
proper extension cords, whose technical data correspond to those of the device.
❐ The connector plug must fi t the socket. The plug may not be modifi ed in any way.
❐ Ensure that the connected mains cord does not pose a tripping hazard. Do not allow the
mains cord to hang over the edge of tables or kitchen worktops. Someone could catch
him / herself and pull down the device.
❐ Lay the mains cord such that it is not crushed or creased and such that it does not come into
contact with hot surfaces or water.
❐ Avoid coming into physical contact with earthed surfaces such as pipes, radiators, stoves and
refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electrical shock if your body is grounded.
❐ Only take hold of the device by the insulated handle areas if you are performing work, where
there is a risk of contact with concealed electrical lines or the mains cord of the device.
Contact with a voltage-carrying line also subjects the metal parts of the device to voltage.
❐ Do not use the mains cord for purposes other than the intended one, such as for carrying
the device, hanging it up or for pulling the plug out of the socket. Keep the mains cord away
from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts of the device.
❐ If you are working with a device outdoors, only use extension cords, which are also suitable
for outdoor use.
❐ If working with the device in a moist environment cannot be avoided, use a fault-current
circuit breaker.

Safety of persons

❐ Risk of suffocation! Keep the packaging material away from children and animals.
❐ Be careful! Pay attention to what you are doing and approach work with the device in a
reasonable manner. Do not use the device if you are tired or under the infl uence of drugs,
alcohol or medication.
❐ Wear suitable clothing such as long trousers, a long-sleeved shirt and shoes with non-slip
soles. Do not wear baggy clothing or jewellery. Keep hair, clothing and gloves away from the
moving device parts.
❐ Always wear safety goggles. Wearing other safety equipment such as a dust mask, hard hat
and ear protection further reduces the risk of injury.
