The packaging material is recyclable. Dispose of the packaging in an environ-
mentally-friendly manner and make it available to the collection service for re-
cyclable materials.
Dispose of the article in an environmentally friendly manner. It should not be
disposed of in the normal household waste. Please dispose of it at a recycling
centre for used electrical and electronic devices. You can obtain more informa-
tion from your local authorities.
Rechargeable batteries and batteries must be removed and disposed of sepa-
rately before disposing of the device. To protect the environment, batteries and
rechargeable batteries may not be disposed of together with normal household
waste. Instead they must be turned in at appropriate collection points. Please
also observe applicable statutory provisions regulating the disposal of batteries.

Removing the Battery

CAUTION!
■ The main unit may only be opened for the disposal of the battery.
■ Take care when opening the main unit, short-circuits must be avoided.
■ Do not open the battery as there is a danger of a short-circuit; irritant vapours or
caustic liquids may also escape.
■ Do not expose the battery to strong sunlight, heat or fi re as there is a risk of explosion.
This device contains a built-in battery, which must be removed prior to disposal of the
used device in the following way:
1. Undo the screw on the main unit.
2. Remove the cap on the opening for plugging in the handle rod.

3. Take the two halves of the main unit apart.
4. Remove the battery pack (l) from the device. You may
need to apply a little force to do this.
5. Open the clip (k) on the connecting cable.
6. Dispose of the battery in an environmentally friendly
manner (collection points or retailers).
