Micropulse Linear Transducer in Profile Housing
5

Configuration

5.1

Default settings

The transducer is delivered with the
following basic settings:
– Node-ID
1
– Resolution:
Position
5 µm
Speed
0.1 mm/s
– Maximum usable range
– Switch points / Cam
None
– Data transmission
10 ms
Baud rate and PDO-Mapping as
ordered, ➥ ➥ ➥ ➥ ➥ chapter 7 Versions.
Changing the default settings on the
BTL is carried out with the SDO
protocol according to DS 301.
5.2

Presettings

When opening the BTL
housing make sure no
parts get into the device.
When closing up the cover ensure
the gasket is sufficiently com-
pressed. Tightening torque:
0.8 Nm
When using in standard CANopen
systems, the Node ID, baud rate
and termination resistor are set be-
fore startup using the DIP switches
built into the BTL: S1.1...S1.10.
➥ ➥ ➥ ➥ ➥ Figs. 5-1 and 5-2.
Important note:
After changing the baud rate and/
or Node ID, all previously
changed settings are lost and the
BTL restarts with the default val-
ues.
All changes to the settings only
become effective in the BTL after
the next power-up.
Changes made with supply volt-
age present do not have an im-
mediate effect.

5.2.1 Node ID
Values of 0...63 can be set for the
Node ID using DIP switches
S1.1...S1.6. In a network, each ad-
dress that sends data over the bus
may be assigned only once! When
the DIP switches are set to a value
of 0, the Node ID set in the LMT is
used (default setting).

When the DIP switches are set to a
value of 0, the Baud rate set in the
LMT is used (e.g. 20/10 kBaud).

5.2.3 Bus termination

To ensure reliable bus levels, the
bus must be terminated on both
ends using a termination resistor. If
the BTL is at the end of the bus,
the termination may be made us-
ing DIP switch S1.10.
Termination for S1.10 = ON
