Further Functions and Connections

Dynamic pressure strip (DP) or electric strip (EL)
A dynamic pressure strip or an electric strip can be connected to terminals USA of the "control inputs" strip on the base board
to act as the lower rail cutoff. In both systems a resistance (1.2 or 8.2kOhm) should be provided in order to ensure faultless
operation. This resistor must be positioned at the safety strip!
Adjustment of the plugin card to the resistance
Connecting blocks (dynamic pressure or electric strip) with 1.2kOhm or 8.2kOhm resistance can be used. The "DIP 2"
changeover switch on the Multicard II adjusts the resistance. Please observe the relevant specification of the connecting
block manufacturer, and determine the resistance value to be set by measuring the resistance in the strip. If the adjustment
has not been performed, the system switches into fault mode.
Light barrier
Remove the jumper between terminals LS in the door control and connect the light barrier's potentialfree contact breaker.
If the light barrier is interrupted, the door stops and travels up again. If the light barrier has been interrupted, descent of the
door is blocked.
If the light barrier is activated while the door is open and during automatic closing mode and DIP 7=ON, the closing time is
being reduced to 3s and the door closes.
If the light barrier is activated while the door is open and during automatic closing mode and DIP 7=OFF, the automatic closing
time is being reset to factory setting.
If the control unit is malfunctioning, the automatic restart is not executed. Descent occurs only in deadman mode.
If the light barrier is used as a trapping safety device, it must be switched into the emergency stop circuit. Please ensure that
when the light barrier is activated, the drive can only be operated with the hand crank or "light chain".
Pulse input point for step switching function (e.g. ceiling pull switch)
A button with a closing contact can be connected to terminals IMP. The button commands rotate in the command sequence
UPSTOPDOWN, i.e. the door travels in the UP direction at the first button command. The second pulse stops the door, the
third pulse triggers the DOWN command. In the event of malfunction the Multicard II only permits operation in deadman mode
(in the DOWN direction if the light barrier is interrupted or the safety strip actuates, in the UP direction if the running time is
exceeded).
In the event of malfunction the pulse input point controls the door in the step switch sequence UPSTOPUP. The door can
then only descend using the threeway push button of the control unit and in deadman mode.
"Half door height" setting (Partial Opening for S/W Summer/Winter Operation)
To activate the "half door height" function, connect both terminals on the Multicard II through a key switch or jumper. The set
position of the green control cam of the limit switch now acts as the upper end position. Set this control cam to the required
partial opening height, and the door now travels up only to this point (winter control).
Safety running time
If the safety running time is exceeded by 90 seconds, the control unit disconnects the drive from the power supply. On the
plugin card this error is indicated by the "STR" LED. Please see the error code table.
