2 Operating Instructions
2.1 Range of Use
Transducers are used to convert various signals in high and low voltage engineering into
proportional output signals. In the power supply and distribution industry, e.g., they are
used in areas where signals have to be transmitted over large distances. Active SIMEAS
signal transducers convert an alternating input voltage or current from the high voltage grid
(45 to 65Hz) into a load-independent direct output current or voltage. As long as the maximum
permissible load is not exceeded, several appliances - such as recorders, displays, remotely
controlled machines, computers or controllers - can be connected and operated through the
output either directly or via a transmission line. Input, output, and the auxiliary power supply
are safely separated from another.
