2.2) Die advancement
Ensure that the latch (21) and the upper die holder (22) are fully secured, otherwise
damage may occur during tool operation.
– Remove the handle holder (01) to release the moveable handle (36).

– Insert the conductor into the connector.
– Locate the connector between the dies at the desired crimp position.
– Operate moveable handle (36) to build up pressure and close the dies.
(The automatic opening of the moveable handle allows the operation of the tool using one
hand, while locating the connector in the desired crimp position with the other).
Make sure that dies are exactly positioned on the desired crimp point; otherwise, re-
open dies following instructions as per § 2.5 and reposition the connector.

2.3) Crimping
– Continue to operate the moveable handle (36).
The tool will automatically change over to the high pressure stage and the ram (16) will
advance until the dies meet.
– It is recommended to continue pumping until the maximum pressure valve is activated
and a "click" is heard.
2.4) Head rotation
– For ease of operation, the tool head can rotate through 180°.
Warning: do not attempt to turn the head if the hydraulic circuit is pressurised.
2.5) Release of dies
– Press the pressure release lever (44) for the rapid retraction of the ram (16) and
subsequent opening of dies to release the crimped connector.

2.6) Rest setting
– After completion of work, release the oil pressure as per § 2.5.
– Fit the handle holder (01).
3. USE OF
The tool is equipped with a removable lower adaptor (19). By replacing this adaptor with the
AU50L-50-S lower adaptor, available on request, it is possible to use the dies common to
most Cembre 50 kN (6 tons) tools.
Replace the adaptor as follows:
– Open the latch (21) and release the upper die holder (22).
– Remove the upper adaptor (20) extracting it from its seat.
– Remove the lower adaptor (19) pushing the pin (90).
– Push the pin (90) and insert the AU50L-50-S adaptor onto the fixing stud (18) on the ram.
– Insert one die into the upper die holder (22) and one into the spring of the AU50L-50-S
adaptor.
– Close the holder (22) and lock it correctly with the latch (21).
– Follow the instruction as § 2.2
