Einsatzmöglichkeiten und
Systemvoraussetzungen

Der MIDI-Controller MC-500USB dient zur Steue-
CH
rung von DJ-Audio-Software und wird mit der Soft-
ware „e-mix ME basic" geliefert. Die Software simu-
liert einen Doppel-Audio-Player mit zugehörigem
2-Kanal-Mischpult und bietet viele Funktionen für
den DJ-Bereich. Folgende Audio-Formate lassen
sich abspielen:
MP3, MP4, M4A, WMA, Ogg Vorbis, Wave.
Der Controller verwendet das MIDI-Datenprotokoll
und kann deshalb auch für andere MIDI-gesteuerte
Audio-Software genutzt werden.

Software installieren und aktivieren
1) Die CD mit der Software in das CD-Laufwerk ein-
legen.
2) Nach dem Einlesen der CD erscheint auf dem
Monitor das Start-Fenster „e-mix digital mixing
software". Dort auf „Install" klicken und den
Anweisungen folgen.
3) Am Ende der Installation auf „Finish" klicken. Es
erscheint wieder das Start-Fenster. Hier entwe-
der auf „Exit" zum Beenden klicken oder z. B. auf
„ME Manual", wenn Sie die Software-Bedie-
nungsanleitung (in Englisch) lesen möchten.
4) Nach der Installation die Software aktivieren.
Anderenfalls kann sie nur für 30 Tage als Demo-

The MIDI controller MC-500USB serves to control
DJ audio software and is supplied with the software
"e-mix ME basic". The software simulates a dual
audio player with corresponding 2-channel mixer
and offers many functions for DJ applications. The
following audio formats can be replayed:
MP3, MP4, M4A, WMA, Ogg Vorbis, Wave.
The controller uses the MIDI data protocol and can
therefore also be used for other MIDI controlled
audio software.

Installing and
Activating the Software
1) Insert the CD with the software into the CD drive.
2) After reading in the CD, the start window "e-mix
digital mixing software" appears on the monitor.
Click "Install" and follow the instructions.
3) Click "Finish" at the end of the installation. The
start window reappears. Either click "Exit" to stop
or e. g. "ME Manual" if you like to read the oper-
ating instructions of the software (in English).
4) After the installation activate the software. Other-
wise it can only be used as a demo version for
30 days. For activating, the licence key supplied

liegt und ein Aktivierungsschlüssel aus dem Inter-
net benötigt. Der Aktivierungsschlüssel kann
„offline" aus dem Internet notiert oder „online"
komfortabel übernommen werden.
Nach dem Starten des Programms „e-mix ME
basic" entweder auf „Continue demo" (Demo-Ver-
sion) klicken oder auf „Activate" zum Aktivieren
und den Anweisungen folgen. Weitere Hinweise
finden Sie in der Software-Bedienungsanleitung.
Hinweis: Stürzt der Computer nach dem Starten des
e-mix-Programms ab oder ist die Grafikdarstellung auf
dem Monitor nicht einwandfrei, muss der originale Treiber
des Herstellers für die Grafikkarte geladen werden und
nicht der Windows -Standardtreiber.

Controller anschließen und
MIDI-Modus wählen
Der MC-500USB ist als freistehendes Gerät zu ver-
wenden und muss auf einer ebenen Fläche aufge-
stellt werden.
1) Die Buchse
(1) über das beiliegende Verbin-
dungskabel an einen USB-Anschluss des Compu-
ters an schließen. Ist der Computer eingeschaltet,
blinken die Tasten SEARCH (17), SCRATCH (18)
und SYNC (19) nacheinander.
2) Die Stromversorgung des MC-500USB erfolgt
über den USB-Anschluss des Computers. Sollte
der Anschuss jedoch nicht genügend Strom lie-
fern, wird ein 6-V-Netzgerät mit einer Belastbar-
keit von 1 A und einem Kleinspannungsstecker
mit den Maßen 5,5/2,1 mm (Außen-/Innendurch-
messer) benötigt (z. B. PS-1204ST von MONA-
COR). Das Netzgerät an die Buchse 6 V
anschließen. Dabei auf die richtige Polung ach-
ten: Am Mittelkontakt muss der Pluspol anliegen!
3) Nach dem Anschließen das Programm „e-mix"
starten. (Wurde das Programm bereits vor dem

monitor is not perfect, load the original driver of the man-
ufacturer for the graphics card instead of the Windows
standard driver.

Connecting the Controller and
Selecting the MIDI Mode
The MC-500USB has to be used as a tabletop unit
and be placed on an even surface.
1) Connect the jack (1) via the supplied connection
cable to a USB connection of the computer. If the
computer is switched on, the buttons SEARCH
(17), SCRATCH (18), and SYNC (19) flash one
after the other.
2) The MC-500USB is supplied with power via the
USB connection of the computer. However, if the
connection should not supply sufficient power, a
6 V power supply unit with a rating of 1 A and a
low voltage plug with the dimensions 5.5/ 2.1 mm
(outside/ inside diameter) are required (e. g. PS-
1204ST from MONACOR). Connect the power
supply unit to the jack 6 V (2). Observe the cor-
rect polarity: The positive pole must be at the cen-
tre contact!
3) After connecting, start the programme "e-mix".
(If the programme has already been started prior
to the connection, it must be terminated and
erneut gestartet werden, sonst lässt sich der
Controller nicht bedienen.) Ist der Controller be -

SEARCH, SCRATCH und SYNC und alle Tasten
werden schwach beleuchtet; Ausnahmen: Tas-
ten PITCH BEND (10), LOAD DECK A (14),
LOAD DECK B (16) und S.LOOP (33). Diese
Tasten sind immer un beleuchtet.
4) Der Controller ist ab Werk auf einen speziellen
MIDI-Modus für die beiliegende e-mix-Software
eingestellt. Bei Verwendung anderer Software
muss der Modus ggf. umgestellt werden:
a) Bei eingeschaltetem Computer das USB-
Kabel aus der Buchse (1) ziehen und bei ge -
drückt gehaltener Taste LOAD DECK A (14)
wieder hineinstecken und die Taste LOAD
DECK A lösen.
Die Taste CUT HI (44) des Kanals 1 blinkt
einige Male und leuchtet dann kontinuierlich.
Dadurch wird angezeigt, dass der e-mix-MIDI-
Modus eingestellt ist.
b) Zum Umschalten auf einen anderen Modus
folgende Taste des Kanals 1 drücken:
CUT MID = normaler General-MIDI-Modus
CUT LO = spezieller General-MIDI-Modus für
z. B. „Traktor"-Software
oder zum Zurückschalten auf den Modus für
die e-mix-Software die Taste CUT HI.
c) Das e-mix-Programm beenden und den Com-
puter neu starten.

Bedienung
In dieser Anleitung ist beschrieben, wie mit dem Con-

troller MC-500USB das Programm „e-mix ME basic"
gesteuert wird. Funktionen, die nicht mit dem MC-
500USB gesteuert werden, sind nur beschrieben,
wenn sie zum Bedienen des Controllers erforderlich
sind. Eine Anleitung in Englisch für das Programm
finden Sie in der Datei „e-mix ME Manual.pdf".

4) The controller is factory-set to a special MIDI
mode for the supplied e-mix software. When
using other software, the mode must be read-
justed, if required:
a) With the computer switched on, disconnect the
USB cable from the jack
while keeping the button LOAD DECK A (14)
pressed and release the button LOAD DECK A.
The button CUT HI (44) of channel 1 flashes
several times and then lights up continuously.
Thus, it is shown that the e-mix MIDI mode has
been adjusted.
b) To switch to another mode, press the following
button of channel 1:
CUT MID = standard General MIDI mode
CUT LO = special General MIDI mode for
e. g. "tractor" software
or press the button CUT HI to switch back to
the mode for the e-mix software.
c) Terminate the e-mix programme and restart
the computer.

Operation
These instructions describe how to control the
programme "e-mix ME basic" with the controller
MC-500USB. Functions which are not controlled
with the MC-500USB are only described if they are
required for operating the controller. Please refer to
the file "e-mix ME Manual.pdf" for instructions in
English for the programme.
