configurable with 2 or 4 driven rolls according to the
selected drive roll kit (see "Accessories").
F.
Cold inch and gas purge control.
G. Tool case (contact tips, drive rolls, guide-tubes...)
H. Remote control receptacle.
I.
Water connectors (standard on water cooled
models) for connecting water cooled torches.
J.
Cover.
K.
Adjustable hinge for cover latching.
Ka.
Latch screw for cover. To slow down the
closing of the cover and prevent it from closing too
strongly, tighten the screw. Or, loosen the screw to
make the closing easier.
L.
Lift bail location.
M. Torch holder.
N. Cable clamp.
O. Fast-mate adapter (male).
P.
8-pin male Amphenol plug for wire feeder.
Q. Gas connector.
R. Quick water connectors.
Operation
The LF 31 is a semi-automatic portable wire feeder,
factory equipped with a gas solenoid and connectors (for
the water cooled version, the flow meter is standard).
The LF31 is equipped with a control panel with buttons,
two encoding knobs and a 3 section display screen.

Control Panel

I. Left knob : Presetting/setting of WFS.
II. Right knob : Presetting/setting of welding voltage.
III. Left large display for WFS and Amps.
IV. Right large display for Volts.
V. Small central display.
VI . "SELECT" Button :
Gives access to the scrolling menu "SELECT",
which allows adjustment of the welding parameters
:
- Trigger mode selection 2-step/4-step
- Pre-flow
- Run in
- Hot/soft start parameters (Wire feed speed and
voltage)
- Crater fill
- Burnback
- Post flow
- Water cooler.
The order of parameters depends on their priority of use.
See flow chart "SELECT" on page 10.
VII. "PROG" Button :
Gives access to the scrolling menu "PROG",
Which allows the selection of the welding modes :
- Non Synergyc Welding Mode (CV) :
Presetting of welding parameters (Voltage and
wire feed speed) are independant from each
other.
(See "non synergic welding mode" on page 7)
- Recall Memory Welding Mode :
Selection and use of saved memories. (To save
a memory, see "MEM" below.)
(See "Recall memory" welding mode on page 8)
It is possible to lock this recall memory welding
mode with a four digit code. This function
prevents the modification of the parameters
saved in memory.
See flow chart "Lock or Unlock Memory" on
page 13.
- Synergic Welding Mode :
Selection and use of a preloaded synergic
curve.
(See "synergic welding mode" on page 9)
See flow chart "PROG" menu on page 11.
VIII. "MEM" Button :
Gives access to the scrolling menu "Memory",
which allows saving welding parameters in a
memory. 10 memories are available. This also
allows you to see the memory status (used or
free), read their contents, and erase them.
See flow chart "MEM" menu on page 12.
IX. "ENTER" button :
Allows validation of the selections in the
different menus. Or allows you to read the last
actual welding parameters.
