To protect your child
- In principle, the following applies: The more tightly the safe-
ty belt fits your child' s body, the higher is the safety.
- When the child car seat is to be mounted on the rear vehicle
seat: adjust the front vehicle seat so as it would be suffi-
ciently far away from the legs of your child thus inhibiting
your child from touching the front vehicle seat rest by its
legs (risk of injury).
- Please, never leave your child in the child car seat or, as the
case may be, in the car unattended. - Let your child get in
and off the car only on the pavement side.
- Do not expose your child to unnecessary heat load by expo-
sing the child car seat to blazing sunshine.
- Have breaks during long distance journeys, when your child
could enjoy the freedom of movement without any pro-
blems.
To protect your car
- The child car seats may leave marks when used on some
vehicle upholstery made of delicate materials (e.g. velvet,
leather, etc.). This may be avoided by putting a blanket or a
towel under the child car seat.

6. Maintenance instructions

See to it that you use only the original spare ISOFIX G 0/1 co-
ver because the cover makes an important part of the sys-
tem function. You will get the spare cover (order number:
5L0 061 721) in specialized shops. The child car seat may not
be used without the cover.
- You may pull the cover off and wash it carefully in tepid
water with mild detergent (30 °C). Please, carefully follow
the washing instructions provided by the manufacturer. If
you do the washing in water warmer than 30 °C, the colour
of the cover' s cloth may fade out. In any case, do not spin-
dry or tumble-dry the cover (the fabric would then separate
from the upholstery depending on the circumstances).
- You may wash the plastic parts in a soap solution. Do not
use aggressive agents (e.g. diluting agents).
- You may disassemble the safety belts and clean them by
tepid soap solution.
6. 1. Pulling the cover off
- Before pulling the cover off, release the safety belts (H) and
the shoulder-padding (H
) see Fig. 15.
