Outdoor DVR Camera
Item no. 75 41 52
Intended Use
The product has a built-in video camera, which is triggered by a PIR sensor. Video recording is done on a
SD/SDHC memory card (max. 16 GB); the camera is supplied by four AA/Mignon batteries. It can be used
indoors and outdoors.
Thanks to this function, the product can be used for monitoring rooms or buildings for example, but also for
the observation of animals.

General information on batteries/rechargeable batteries
• Batteries/rechargeable batteries must be kept out of the reach of children.
• Check that the polarity is correct, when inserting the batteries/rechargeable batteries (pay attention to
plus/+ and minus/-).
Version 11/11
• Do not leave batteries/rechargeable batteries lying around; they could be swallowed by children or pets. If
swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
• Leaking, or damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries, in contact with the skin can cause acid burns,
therefore, use suitable protective gloves.
• Batteries/rechargeable batteries must not be short-circuited, opened or thrown into a fi re. There is a risk
of explosion!
• Conventional batteries must not be recharged. Danger of explosion! Only charge rechargeable batteries
that are intended for this purpose; use a suitable battery charger.
• Never mix batteries and rechargeable batteries; do not mix batteries or rechargeable batteries with differ-
ent charges (e.g. full and half-full batteries). Always use four (rechargeable) batteries of the same type/
manufacturer to power the camera.
• For the safe and lasting use of the camera, we recommend using only high-quality alkaline batteries.
When using rechargeable batteries, expect a shorter running time due to the lower operating
voltage (Battery = 1.5 V/cell, rechargeable battery = 1.2 V/cell).
Rechargeable batteries are more temperature sensitive than no mal batteries. At low tempera-
tures (e.g. when used outdoors in winter), rechargeable batteries only have a very short running
time.
If you still wish to use rechargeable batteries, then you should exclusively use NiMH recharge-
able batteries with low self-discharge.
Inserting/replacing the batteries
Loosen the locking lever (1), pull it out towards the "PULL" marking, so that the front of the device can be
opened.
Insert four batteries of type AA (mignon) with the correct polarity. You will fi nd an appropriate diagram in the
battery compartment.
When using for the fi rst time, place the SD/SDHC memory card with the correct orientation into the
SD slot, see chapter „Inserting/Removing the Memory Card".
Close the camera again.
The batteries must be replaced when the LED "bat. low" is lit.
Inserting/Removing the Memory Card
• Loosen the locking lever (1), pull it out towards the „PULL" marking, so that the front of the device can be
8
opened.
• Carefully insert the memory card with the correct orientation into the SD slot, until it clicks into place. A
corresponding Figure can be found below the SD slot.
You can use either an SD memory card up to max. 2 GB (e.g. the supplied 2 GB memory card)
or an SDHC memory card with max. 16 GB.
Make sure when inserting the card, that the write protection on the memory card is disabled.
• To remove the memory card, slightly push the slot, in order to release the memory card. The locking
mechanism in the slot then pushes the card out a bit so that it can easily be removed.
• Once the memory card is inserted, close the camera again.
PIR sensor features
The PIR motion detector responds to temperature changes within the detection range, e.g. if a person (an
animal or a car) enters the detection area with a different temperature from the rest of the detection area.
The achievable range is dependent on ambient temperature and the temperature of the background or the
size of the moving object and can be up to 4 m. The opening angle of the PIR sensor is 98°.
Examples:
• A cat at a distance of 1 m is detected due to the different heat; however, the same cat will not be detected
at a distance of 4 m.
• If the PIR motion detector is directed towards a warm wall in summer, people passing by will not trigger the
PIR.
• In winter, heavy clothing prevents people from being recognised so well.
Depending on what you want to monitor, the mounting location must be chosen accordingly.
The built-in PIR motion detector has an opening angle of 98°, and a range of up to 4 m (depend-
ing on
Assembling the camera
The camera should be placed, so that it lies between the sun and the area to be monitored - i.e. the sun
should lie "behind" the camera.
The device can be mounted in different ways, depending on the mounting location.
When using the mounting bracket, observe the correct orientation, the „TOP
face upwards.
1. On plane surfaces (glass), the four suction cups, are suffi cient for fi xing the mounting bracket. For safety
reasons, (decreasing suction effect over a long period of time, changes in barometric pressure) an ad-
ditional retaining element on the mounting bracket must be installed, for example a cord.
2. The mounting bracket can be installed through four mounting holes, using suitable screws/rawplugs for
example.
3. The mounting bracket can be secured via cable ties, a suitable cord or a hook, so that it can be easily
removed.
4. A tripod socket is installed on the back of the camera (6), which can be used to mount the camera.
