Inserting/changing the batteries
Observe the correct polarity when inserting the battery (posi-
tive and negative).
Keep batteries out of the reach of children. Do not leave batter-
ies lying around. Pets or small children might swallow them.
Mortal danger! If swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
Batteries may not be shorted, opened or thrown into fire,
Batteries must not be recharged. (Danger of explosion!)
Only use new batteries of the right size and the recommended
type. Do not mix old and new batteries. Chemical liquids may
leak out of overaged or spent batteries and damage the device.
For this reason, remove the batteries when you do not use the
device for a longer period (a month or more).
Leaking or damaged batteries can cause burns if they come into
contact with the skin. You should therefore wear suitable pro-
tective gloves.
•With a screwdriver, unscrew the two screws of the battery compartment (on the bot-
tom of the table clock). Remove the cover of the battery compartment.
•Insert two CR2032 button cells of the same brand and one LR44 button cell observing
the correct polarity. The plus pole of the button cells points towards the battery com-
partment cover.
•Close the battery compartment by replacing the battery compartment cover and
screwing it shut.
Use high-quality batteries to achieve as long a period of operation as pos-
sible.
The display appears after insertion of the batteries. The temperature display is slightly
delayed; the device needs a few seconds to determine the temperature.
A change of the batteries becomes necessary when the display contrast fades or the
brightness of the display.
Initial operation
There is a transport protection foil above the display glass; remove this prior to first use.
Carefully touch the top edge of the display (marked with PRESS) to
switch between the individual display functions. After switching the dis-
play functions, the display is briefly illuminated in colour. Each display
function has its own display background colour.
