6. Installation
• Take all parts of the sharpener from the packaging and remove all packaging material or transport protections from
the sharpener, if present.
• Check the product for transport damage. If you find any transport damage, do not take the product into operation,
but contact us.
• Attach the sharpener to a stable, level, horizontal surface, e.g. a work table, with two suitable screws (workbench).
Attention!
The later operation of the sharpener is only permitted when the sharpener is firmly and safely installed.
Otherwise, there is a danger of severe injury!
• Install the sharpener so that the front of the sharpener points to the front towards you with the angle scale.
• When the sharpener is delivered disassembled, insert the chain disc (16) in the corresponding opening of the bot-
tom plate and attach it to the fastening wheel (15).
• Adjust the holder of the hand lever (2) so that you can later hold it together with the grip (3). Screw on the holder.
7. Operation
Attention!
Before any setting at the sharpener, switch it off and disconnect it from the mains voltage; pull the mains
plug from the mains socket.
If the sharpener has been in operation before, wait until the grinding wheel has stopped completely.
a) Inserting saw chain
• Insert the saw chains to be sharpened into the saw chain guide on the chain disc (16).
Observe the proper orientation of the saw chain, so that the cutting link of the saw chain is placed correctly.
b) Checking chain brake and adjusting if necessary
• Actuate the hand lever (2) for the chain brake (19). If it does not hold the saw chain, you first need to adjust the chain
brake. This is done with the setting screw (12).
• If the setting path is insufficient, the rope pull for the chain brake can be adjusted similarly to the hand brake of a
bicycle. The adjustment wheel is used for this (1).
At later operation of the sharpener, it must be ensured that the chain brake holds the saw chain securely.
Otherwise, not only the saw chain but also the grinding disc may be damaged. There also is a danger of
injury!
