• If you have reason to assume that safe operation is no longer possible, disconnect the product immedi-
ately (turn out associated fuse or deactivate circuit breaker, deactivate associated FI protection switch)
and secure it against inadvertent operation. Then have the product inspected by a specialist.
It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
- the product is visibly damaged
- the product does not work or not work properly (flickering light, smoke or burnt smell, audible crackling,
discolouration of the product or adjacent surfaces)
- the product was stored under unfavourable conditions
- if it was subjected to heavy stress during transport

b) Assembly
• Operate the product only when it is stationarily installed. Operation of the product without stationary
installation is not permitted for reasons of safety.
• Install the product so that it cannot be reached by children.
• The product is intended for installation and use in dry indoor rooms. It must not become damp or wet.
• Do not use the product inside of rooms or in bad ambient conditions where flammable gases, vapours or
explosive dust may be or are present! There is a danger of explosion!
c) Operation
• The mains socket into which the mains plug of the sharpener is plugged must be near the device and
easily accessible.
• Never use the product immediately after it has been taken from a cold into a warm environment. The
condensation generated may destroy the product. Moreover, there is the risk of a fatal electric shock!
Let the product reach room temperature before connecting and using it. This may take several hours.
• Keep your workplace clean.
• Work only with the workplace sufficiently illuminated.
• Do not operate the device when you are not attentive. Do not work under the influence of alcohol or medi-
cation. This may cause severe injury.
• Ensure sufficient ventilation of the workplace while grinding. Inhalation of grinding dust is hazardous to
health. Wear a suitable protection mask.
• Wear suitable protective clothing, safety gloves, goggles and hearing protection when grinding.
Grinding produces hot and partially glowing metal particles that may cause severe burns or eye damage.
The noise of the sharpener or during grinding may cause hearing damage.
Also keep clothing, jewellery, hair, etc., away from turning or moving product parts. Danger of injury!
