Solar radio table clock
with vibration alert

Prescribed Use
The product displays the time and date and additionally, an indoor thermometer is integrated. With sufficient
brightness the power supply of the radio table clock is provided by solar cells.
The special feature of this product is an external module with vibration alarm. The alarm function can be acti-
vated either by the internal signal transmitter of the radio table clock or by the module with vibration alarm that
is controlled via radio.
By means of the integrated DCF-receiver the time of day and the date can be set automatically
and of course manually, too.
Any use other than that described above could lead to damage to this product and involves the risk of short
circuits, fire, electric shock, etc.

Safety Instructions
Please read all the instructions before using this device, they include important infor-
mation on its correct operation. The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused
by failure to observe these safety instructions! We do not assume any liability for any
consequential damage!
We do not assume any liability for material and personal damage caused by improper
use or non-compliance with the safety instructions! The warranty will be void in such
cases.
• Do not use this product in hospitals or medical institutions. Although the radio alarm clock
emits only relatively weak radio signals, these may lead to malfunction of life-support sys-
tems.
• The same may be the case in other areas.
• For safety and approval (CE) reasons, unauthorised conversion and/or modifications of the
product are not permitted. Never dismantle the product.
• The product is intended for use in dry interiors, it must not get damp or wet.
• Do not allow children to play with the device. Children cannot assess the dangers arising from
incorrect use of electrical devices. Therefore, be especially careful when children are around.
Operate the product only out of reach of children; the product contains glass (display), parts
that can be swallowed, as well as batteries.
• Condensation may form when the product is brought from a cold room into a warm one.
Leave the product switched off and wait until it has reached room temperature before
using it.
• Do not leave packing materials unattended. They may become dangerous toys for children.
• Handle the product with care, it can be damaged by impact, blows, or accidental drops, even
from a low height.
Notes on batteries/rechargeable batteries
• Keep batteries/rechargeable batteries out of reach of children.
• Please observe the correct polarity (positive/+ and negative/-) when inserting the batteries/rechargeable
batteries.
• Do not leave batteries/rechargeable batteries lying around; they could be swallowed by children or pets.
If swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
• Leaking, or damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries, in contact with the skin can cause acid burns, there-
fore, use suitable protective gloves.
• Make sure that (rechargeable) batteries are not short-circuited or thrown into the fire. There is a risk of
explosion!
• Do not recharge normal batteries. There is a risk of explosion!
Only charge rechargeable batteries which are intended for this purpose; use a suitable battery charger.
• In the case of disuse for a longer period of time (e.g. storage), remove the inserted batteries/rechargeable
batteries.
Old batteries/rechargeable batteries can leak and cause damages on the product; loss of guarantee/
warranty!
• Always replace the whole set of batteries/rechargeable batteries.
Only use batteries/rechargeables of the same type/manufacturer with the same charge status (do not mix
full with semi-charged or empty batteries/rechargeables)
• Never mix normal batteries with rechargeables! Either use batteries or rechargeable batteries.
• For the environmentally friendly disposal of batteries and rechargeable batteries, please read the chapter
"Disposal".
• The radio table clock needs two batteries of type AA/Mignon (e.g. Conrad item number 652502, to be
ordered twice). The vibration module also requires two batteries of type AA/Mignon (e.g. Conrad item num-
ber 652502, to be ordered twice).

Start-up
• Open the battery compartment on the rear of the radio table clock.
• Insert two batteries of type AA/Mignon with correct polarity (observe plus/+ and minus/-, see figure in bat-
tery compartment). The switch "ON"/"OFF" on the left in the battery compartment is used to turn on the radio
table clock (switch setting "On", see chapter "On/Off switch"), the right switch is for the selection of the alarm
function (see chapter "Alarm function").
• Close the battery compartment.
• Open the battery compartment on the back of the vibration module.
• Insert two batteries of type AA/Mignon with correct polarity (observe plus/+ and minus/-, see figure in
battery compartment).
• Close the battery compartment.
DCF Reception
• Directly after inserting the batteries in to the radio table clock, it
initially attempts to receive the DCF signal.
It is a signal which is broadcast from a sender in Mainflingen (near
Frankfurt am Main). Its range is up to 1500 km and, under ideal
reception conditions, even up to 2000 km.
Inter alia the DCF signal contains the exact time of day (accuracy is
theoretically 1 second in 1 million years!) and the date.
This means there is no complicated manual setting of summer and
winter time.
• If there still is no current Time/Date shown in the display after 5 minutes change the installation location of
the radio table clock.
• Press the "RESET" key for about 2 seconds on the back of the radio table clock until an audio signal is emit-
ted and the display skips to "0:00".
• Attempts of reception for the daily synchronisation with the DCF time are done at night at around 3 o'clock,
4 o'clock and 5 o'clock since the least disturbances can usually be assumed for this time.
Switching on/off DCF reception
• To turn off the DCF receiver, the "WAVE" key must be pressed for about 2 seconds until the radio tower
symbol disappears on the right top of the display.
During a reception attempt (when the radio tower symbol flashes on the right top of the display ), a short
push on the "WAVE" key is enough to turn off the DCD reception.
• To turn on the DCF receiver, the "WAVE" key must be pressed for about 2 seconds until the radio tower
symbol flashes on the right top of the display.
Following that, an automatic reception attempt is started.
Setting the time manually
• Press and hold the "SET" button as long as necessary (approx. 2 seconds) until the year in the display starts
flashing. Thereby the DCF reception is automatically switched off.
• Using the "UP" or "DOWN" button, you can set the year. If the respective key is pressed for a longer period
of time, quick adjustment is performed.
Press the "SET" button briefly for confirmation.
• Now the month is flashing; set it with the button "UP" or "DOWN" and then briefly press the button "SET" for
confirmation.
• The date is flashing; set it with the button "UP" or "DOWN" and then briefly press the button "SET" for con-
firmation.
• Then either "12h" or "24h" is flashing in the display. By using the key "UP" or "DOWN" the desired display
type can be selected. Using the mode 12h a "PM" appears in the display left to the hours during the second
half of the day. Press the "SET" button briefly for confirmation.
• The hours are flashing; set them with the button "UP" or "DOWN" and then briefly press the button "SET" for
confirmation..
Please note:
In principle, it is possible to operate the radio alarm clock and the vibration module with
rechargeable batteries.
However, due to the lower voltage of rechargeable batteries (rechargeable battery = 1.2V,
battery = 1.5V) and the lower capacity there is a shorter operating time and the radio range
might be reduced.
Therefore, we recommend that you use high-quality alkaline batteries in order to allow for long-
lasting and reliable operation.
Directly after inserting the batteries in to the radio table clock, it initially attempts to receive the
DCF-signal.
The vibration module is already adjusted to the radio table clock ex-works and therefore,
programming or suchlike is not necessary.
The recognition and interpretation of the DCF signal can take 3-5 minutes. Do not move the
radio table clock during that time. Do not use any buttons.
A bad reception can also be expected e.g. with metalised insulation glass windows, ferrocon-
crete construction, coated special wallpapers or in basements.
In order to do so, the radio table clock must be in normal display mode of the time (hours/
minutes/ seconds).
This has only to be done if no DCF reception is possible, e.g. in a basement.
Please note: If no key is pressed for several minutes the setting mode is deactivated automat-
ically.
