13. Setting the camera for field observation
Once.you.have.set.up.your.camera.using.all.program.settings,.it.is.ready.for.outdoor.or.field.use..The.
following are a number of helpful tips and suggestions for use.
• Use.the.test.function.to.align.the.camera.
• Fasten.the.camera.at.a.height.of.about.1.5.to.2.m..The.camera.should.be.pointed.slightly.toward.
the.ground..The.battery.compartment.cover.should.face.upward.
• Fasten.the.camera.pointing.north.or.south..Try.not.to.fasten.the.camera.pointing.east.or.west.as.
the rising and setting sun may release the shutter and result in overexposed images.
• Remove.branches.and.bushes.in.front.of.the.camera.that.might.negatively.affect.the.images.taken..
Also.remember.that.wind.may.cause.bushes.to.enter.the.detection.area.and.high.temperatures.
may negatively affect image quality.
• Check the batteries before turning on the camera.
• Make sure an SD card is installed before turning on the camera.
• Make sure that the camera is in CAM or PSET mode and not in test mode before leaving the
detection area.
• Please.note.that.the.laser.will.flash.for.approx..60.seconds.after.approx..30.seconds.of.being.
turned on. Persons and animals should not be in the area of the laser at this time.
• Make sure that the time and date are set correctly.
• Make sure that the housing is closed correctly to prevent water from entering it.
