Replacing/Inserting the Saw Blade
B Before any work on the machine itself, pull
the mains plug.
B When mounting the saw blade, wear protec-
tive gloves. Danger of injury when touching the
saw blade.
B When changing the saw blade, take care that
the saw blade holder is free of material resi-
due, e. g. wood or metal shavings.
Selecting a Saw Blade
An overview of recommended saw blades can be found
at the end of this manual. Use only saw blades with
M-shank.
Inserting the Saw Blade (see figure A)
Insert the saw blade 1 until it latches in the SDS saw
blade receptacle 7.
B Check the tight seating of the saw blade. A
loose saw blade can fall out and lead to injuries.
Removint the Saw Blade (see figure B)
Push the slider for the SDS saw blade release 8 in the
direction of the arrow and pull out the saw blade 1.

B Observe correct mains voltage! The voltage of
the power source must agree with the voltage
specified on the nameplate of the machine.
Power tools marked with 230 V can also be
operated with 220 V.
Switching On and Off
To start the machine, first push the lock-off button for
the On/Off switch 5 and then press the On/Off switch
4 and keep it pressed.
To switch off the machine, release the On/Off
switch 4.
Controling the Stroke Rate
Increasing or reducing the pressure on the On/Off
switch 4 enables stepless stroke-rate control of the
switched-on machine.
The required stroke rate is dependent on the material
and the working conditions and can be determined by
a practical trial.
Reducing the stroke rate is recommended when the
saw blade engages in the material as well as when
sawing plastic and aluminium.

B When
sawing
observe the statutory provisions and the rec-
ommendations of the material suppliers.
B Do not carry out pocket or plunge cuts with
the power tool. Danger of kickback.
Check wood, press boards, building materials, etc. for
foreign objects such as nails, screws or similar, and
remove them, if required.
When using suitable saw blades, wood with nails can
also be sawn.
Switch the machine on and guide it toward the work-
piece to be sawn. Hold the power tool firmly with both
hands, position the guide stop 2 onto the workpiece
surface and saw through the material applying uniform
supporting pressure and feed.
For a quick and clean cut, move the power tool back
and forth as with a conventional hand saw
(see figure C).
After finishing the working procedure, switch the power
tool off.
If the saw blade should jam, switch the machine off
immediately. Widen the gap somewhat with a suitable
tool and pull out the machine.
Flush Cuts (see figure D)
Using elastic bimetal saw blades, items still attached to
a wall (e. g. projecting building elements such as water
pipes, etc.) can be sawn off flush at the wall.
B Pay attention that the saw blade always
extends beyond the diameter of the material
being worked. There is danger of kickback.
Position the saw blade directly against the wall and
apply some lateral pressure via the tool until the foot-
plate faces against the wall. Switch the power tool on
and saw through the workpiece, applying constant lat-
eral pressure.
Soft Grip
The gripping surface (soft grip) 6 reduces the danger
of slipping and thereby improves the grip on the
machine and the handling.
At the same time, the rubber coating achieves a vibra-
tion-reducing effect.
Coolant/Lubricant
When sawing metal, coolant/lubricant should be
applied alongside cutting line because of the material
heating up.
