The servos are already installed in the fuselage. Connect the rudder servo to socket
1 of the receiver, the elevator servo to socket 2, and the SPEED PLUS motor unit to
socket 3. Run the receiver aerial through the bottom of the fuselage and back to the
tail; tape it in place.
Caution: do not connect the LiPo flight battery until you have switched the
transmitter on and checked that the rotary control on the X-306 transmitter
(function 3) is at its rear end-stop ("motor OFF" position).
Charge up the cells in the transmitter, then check all the working systems in turn:
move the right stick (function 1) to the right, and the rudder should deflect to the right.
Pull the left stick (function 2) back towards you, and the elevator should deflect up. If
either function works the wrong way round, reverse that channel using the small
slide-switch at bottom left on the transmitter. If you have used the stated horn / output
arm lengths, the control surface travels will automatically be correct. The building
instructions and the illustrations assume the use of the X-306 FM radio control
system; if you prefer to use a different set you will need to refer to the operating
instructions supplied with it.
The illustration shows the positioning of an IFS receiver XR-16 (order no. 23601) in
the fuselage. For setting as per IFS instruction manual (included in order no. 23101
or 23102) the receiver battery, order no. 2585 for ex. must be plugged in connector
no. 1. After adjustment please plug in the three-conductor connecting lead of the
SPEED 400 PLUS instead of the receiver battery.
Decals
Cut out the individual decals and apply them to the model in the arrangement shown
in the kit box illustration.
Balancing
The correct Centre of Gravity position coincides with the carbon fibre tube, i.e. in the
range 55 to 70 mm back from the wing root leading edge. You may need to adjust
the position of the flight battery in order to balance the model correctly. Check the CG
by supporting the aeroplane under the wing on two fingertips; it will hang level when
balanced correctly.
Test-flying
We recommend that you test-fly the model on a day with little or no wind. A large,
grassy field, sloping gently into wind, forms the ideal flying site. Assemble the model
completely, and set all the control surfaces to centre.
