4.3 Safety hood and depth stop

4.3.1 EFA SK18 WB
The cutting depth is set with a depth stop or safety
hood.
The saws are equipped with an adjustable depth
stop (T). The stop (T) must be adjusted for the re-
spective application. Loosen wing nut (F) and pivot
stop (T) about pivot point (X) and then tighten wing
nut (F) again (see Fig. 7).
Adjustment range: 15 - 65 mm

4.4 Changing the carbon brushes

When the carbon brushes are worn, the automatic
cut-out interrupts the power supply and the machi-
ne comes to a standstill. The automatic cut-out pre-
vents the collector of the armature being damaged
by the brush springs. Constant inspection is thus eli-
minated.
Disconnect the saw from the
power supply. The carbon brus-
hes may only be replaced in
pairs.

When replacing carbon brushes with automatic in-
feed, the connection must be laid as a loop (see Fig.
8).
After at least every second carbon brush change,
the gaps in the armature must be cleaned out using
a plastic brush.
4.5 Adjustment of the spring balan-
cer
The fine adjustment of the spring balancer is effec-
ted via the PLUS/MINUS screw on its housing (see
Fig. 10).
