4.3 Safety hood and depth stop

Never work without the safety
hood in place or with a defective
safety hood!
4.3.1 EFA 85/ EFA 185
These machines are equipped with an adjustable
safety hood (H). For adjustment, the saw blade has
to be removed, then carry out adjustment using 2
hex. head bolts and 8 mounting bores (see Fig. 8).

4.3.2 EFA 86/ EFA 186
These machines are equipped with an adjustable
depth stop (T). The stop (T) must be adjusted for
the respective application. Loosen wing nut (F) and
pivot stop (T) about pivot point (X) and then tighten
wing nut (F) again (see Fig. 9).
Adjustment range: 15 - 75 mm

4.4 Repair of the centrifugal brake

Repairs may only be carried out
by authorised and qualified per-
sonnel.
Always switch off the breaking
saw before repair work and dis-
connect it from the works mains.
Use only original EFA spare parts!
Spare parts lists with the correspond-
ing numbering can be found in Annex
A.6 (p. 25).
On request, spare parts lists can be
supplied to the repair workshop with
qualified specialist staff.
1. Remove four hexagon bolts (77)
2. Remove gear head (40-71) from the motor
3. Remove the individual parts of the brake. These
must move freely.
4. Loosen nut (21)
5. Check ball (19) for free movement
6. Inspect the friction disc (15) and disc (18) for
wear and replace, if necessary.
7. Grease all parts lightly with "EFA Special
Grease" (Order No. 00 1365 622).
8. Assemble the brake parts again (see exploded
view in the Annex)
9. Check the centrifugal brake for proper function:
Tighten nut (21) to max. 0.3 Nm
Adjust the braking effect with the bolt (turn
in clockwise direction = increase braking
effect, turn in anti-clockwise direction =
decrease braking effect)
The further installation is performed in the reverse
order.
