Data transmission
Via the integrated USB interface, you can transfer the saved measuring values to a
software for saving and evaluating.
Proceed as follows to connect the sound level meter to your computer:
- Turn your measuring device on and start your computer (operating system Windows®
98SE or higher.
- With the enclosed USB cable, connect the measuring device via the lateral mini
USB socket (15) with a free USB interface on your computer.
- The computer automatically detects a new device. Insert the supplied software CD
into a CD drive and follow the instructions on the screen. Let the computer search
automatically for the new driver.
- After successful device installation, you can install the software.
- Select your drive in the operating system and open the folder for your language in
the program folder"SL-400". In the sub-folder „Disk1", select the installation pro-
gram „SETUP.EXE" by double-clicking. The program installation starts. Follow the
instructions on screen.
- Select a folder for installation.
- After successful installation, start the program „SL-400.EXE".
Software „SL-400"
Once the connection to the computer is established and the software started, press
the button „SETUP" on the measuring device to start the data connection. The auto
power-off function is deactivated at the same time. In the software command bar,
select „Com connection (C)" (hotkey „Alt+C") the interface. This is usually COM3 or
COM 4.
If the connection cannot be established, select the other COM ports until the message
„No Connection" disappears in the software display.
The help file of the software contains operating instructions and information about
the individual functions.
During data transmission, the measuring device displays "Out". Never
turn the measuring device off during this time, otherwise data is lost.
